Love Your Body™ Club is The Body Shop's free rewards program for UK customers, open to UK residents aged 16 and over. Members earn 5 points for every £1 spent in The Body Shop stores and online, and every 500 points is automatically credited as a £5 voucher, so each point is worth 1p and the program returns 5% of qualifying spend. New members get 10% off their first order and a £5 reward in their birthday month. There are no tiers on the UK page or in its terms, and the whole points balance expires after 12 months without any activity. This guide covers the UK program.

Last checked on 24 October 2026 against The Body Shop UK's Love Your Body Club page and the Loyalty Programme terms and conditions (valid from 19 June 2025).

How to join Love Your Body Club

You can join in any UK The Body Shop store or online. The online form asks for a first name, last name and email address, with a date of birth optional and a tick box to agree to marketing emails. The page says that if you can't see the form, you're already a member and can log in with the email address you registered.

You don't need a card or a loyalty number. In store, the account is found through the email address linked to it, and online you log in. You can only hold one account, and The Body Shop can refuse, merge or close extra accounts. If you join online you get an online account straight away, where you can track your points and vouchers.

How you earn Love Your Body Club points

ActionWhat you getConditions
Spend in store or online5 points per £1The account has to be used in the transaction. Points are based on the price paid after discounts and vouchers
Join10% off your first orderExcludes sale and archive items, gift cards, gift sets and collections
BirthdayA £5 rewardBirthdate saved, email marketing opt-in and a purchase in the 12 months before the birthday
PromotionsPoints promotions and early accessSent by email to members who have opted in

The terms say points are earned on all purchases except gift cards, delivery charges and carrier bags. Points are credited to your account within 7 days, and they're allocated once your order has been fulfilled and despatched, which the terms say can take a few days in busy periods. If you return or get a refund on a product, the points from it are removed.

There's a limit on how fast you can earn: a maximum of 5,000 points and 3 transactions a day. That works out at £1,000 of spending a day, which few customers will reach.

The page doesn't list other ways to earn, such as reviews or social follows. It says members get "points promotions" through the year, communicated by email, so make sure your email opt-in is up to date on your account.

What Love Your Body Club points are worth

One point is worth 1p, because 500 points converts to a £5 voucher. At 5 points per £1, you earn 5p back for every £1 of qualifying spend, which is 5%. These are our calculations from the published earn and redemption rates, as of 24 October 2026.

You spendPoints earnedVoucher value
£20100None yet (a fifth of the way to a voucher)
£50250None yet (half way)
£100500£5
£2501,250£10, with 250 points left over

The 5% return is on spending that earns points. Gift cards, delivery charges and carrier bags earn nothing, and points are based on the price you pay after discounts and vouchers, so an order paid partly with a voucher earns on the smaller amount.

How to redeem a Love Your Body Club voucher

You don't redeem points in a separate step: when you reach 500 points, the account is automatically credited with a £5 voucher. You can see your points balance and any vouchers you've earned in My Account after logging in with the email address linked to the club.

  • Online: you can use one voucher at a time.
  • In store: you can use up to five vouchers, so up to £25 in one go.
  • Combining: vouchers can be used with other promotions, offers or discounts unless it says otherwise.
  • Part use: each voucher is used once. If it's only partly used, the remaining value isn't refunded.

If you don't see your vouchers at checkout, The Body Shop says to check that you're logged in with the email address linked to your club account. If they're still missing, use the "use alternative payment method" link, which takes you out of the Shop Pay checkout.

Do Love Your Body Club points expire?

Yes, but only through inactivity. The terms say your entire balance of points expires after 12 months of non-activity in the program. Non-activity means no points have been earned or redeemed in that time, and the expiry itself doesn't count as activity. So any purchase that earns points, or a redemption, starts the 12 months again.

Vouchers have their own, shorter clock. Standard vouchers expire after 3 months if unspent, and birthday rewards are valid for 30 days from issue. The Body Shop can also end your membership if you haven't used your account to collect points or redeem rewards for 12 months, and when an account is terminated or expires, all points and vouchers are cancelled.

Love Your Body Club birthday reward

Members get a £5 reward in their birthday month. The terms set three conditions: you've given The Body Shop your birthdate, you're opted in to email marketing, and you made a purchase or placed an online order using your Love Your Body Club account in the 12 months before your birthdate. The reward is valid for 30 days from issue.

The Body Shop's pages describe the perk in two ways. The sign-up panel says "a special gift on your birthday" and the perks section says "a £5 voucher on your birthday", while the terms say a reward worth £5.

Are there Love Your Body Club tiers?

None are listed. The UK page and the terms describe one level, with every member earning 5 points per £1. The Body Shop's sites in other countries run their own versions of the club, and some differ: the German site lists membership levels, for example.

The fine print

  • UK only. The terms say the account, rewards and points are only valid for use in the UK, and members must be UK residents. The Body Shop's other country sites have their own terms. The US site doesn't mention the club on its homepage, FAQs, terms or promotion pages as of 24 October 2026.
  • Points can be removed. Returned or refunded products lose the points they earned.
  • Vouchers are capped. An account can hold at most 10 vouchers. If a new one is generated when the account already holds 10, the oldest is removed automatically.
  • Vouchers expire in 3 months, points after 12 months of inactivity, and birthday rewards after 30 days.
  • No cash value. Points and vouchers can't be exchanged for cash, transferred, bought or sold.
  • Changes. The terms, benefits and FAQs can change at any time, and The Body Shop can end the program at its discretion, effective as soon as changes are published on its website.
  • Excluded from points: gift cards, delivery charges and carrier bags.
  • Welcome offer exclusions: sale and archive items, gift cards, gift sets and collections.

What stands out about Love Your Body Club

One number does most of the work. Five points per £1 and 500 points for £5 is the whole earn and burn story, and it never changes by member. A customer can work out what a £40 purchase earns (200 points) and how far that gets them (40% of a voucher) without a calculator.

Rewards arrive without a redeem step. The voucher is credited at 500 points, so there's no catalogue to browse and no decision to make about when to cash in. Members see it in their account and at checkout.

Expiry runs on inactivity, not on age. The whole balance is only at risk after 12 months without earning or redeeming. A member who buys once a year never loses their points, while a member who stops shopping loses everything in one go.

Vouchers are the short clock. At 3 months, a £5 voucher expires much sooner than the points that created it, which gives members a reason to use it.

Limits sit in the terms, not on the page. The 5,000 points a day, the 10 voucher cap and the voucher expiry don't appear on the club page itself.

What members should know going in:

  • The birthday reward needs a recent purchase. A birthdate and an email opt-in aren't enough: the terms also ask for a purchase in the 12 months before.
  • There are two first-order offers. The club page offers 10% off a first order, and the email box in the footer of the same page offers 15% off a first order. The page doesn't say how the two work together.
  • The 10% welcome offer has exclusions, which appear as a small footnote on the page and aren't in the terms.
  • The page and the terms word the birthday perk differently: a special gift, a £5 voucher, and a £5 reward.

Is Love Your Body Club worth joining?

Yes, if you shop at The Body Shop in the UK at all. It's free, there's no minimum to join, and the 10% off a first order is available straight away.

For an occasional shopper, the points are a small extra: £100 of spending earns £5, and the 12 months of inactivity rule means a yearly purchase is enough to keep a balance. For a regular shopper, the main thing to watch is the 3 month life of vouchers, so use each £5 as it arrives. For someone who mostly buys gift cards, delivery or carrier bags, none of that earns points.

What Shopify brands can learn from Love Your Body Club

Love Your Body Club is a flat, single-reward program, and five ideas carry over to Shopify brands with repeat buyers:

  1. Keep the numbers round. 5 points per £1 and 500 points for £5 is easy to remember, and an inflated point count makes progress visible: a £40 order shows as 200 points, which is two fifths of a voucher.
  2. Issue the reward at the threshold. Crediting the voucher automatically at 500 points removes a step between earning and spending. On Shopify, a fixed-amount reward at a set points cost does the same job, and members can see it ready to use.
  3. Expire on inactivity. Clearing a balance only after a long gap with no activity protects regular customers and catches lapsed ones. Setting the window to match how often your customers buy keeps it fair.
  4. Put a shorter clock on the voucher. A reward that expires in 3 months gives members a reason to come back soon. Set it long enough that it doesn't feel like a trick.
  5. Tie the birthday reward to recent activity. A condition such as a purchase in the last 12 months keeps the cost of the perk for customers who still shop with you.

If you're building a Shopify loyalty program like this, Mage covers most of the mechanics. You can set a purchase earning rule, create a fixed-amount reward with its own points cost, and let rewards apply at Shopify checkout with no code to copy. Points expiry is off by default and can run a set number of days after points are earned, or reset with each purchase, with a reminder before anything drops off. A Birthday Bonus pays once a year once the customer has saved their birthday, Bonus Points Campaigns run multipliers such as 2x points, and Mage runs inside Shopify POS, so in-store purchases earn and redeem against the same balance. We've written a step-by-step guide to setting up a loyalty program like Love Your Body Club on Shopify.

How to Run a Double Points Campaign That Drives Revenue in a Weekend

You'd think the best way to boost weekend sales is to slash prices. But here's what actually happens: customers train themselves to wait for discounts, your brand gets devalued, and you end up in a race to the bottom that erodes margins. The smarter move? Double points campaigns. They drive demand without touching your price tag.

When to Expire Loyalty Points (And When You Definitely Shouldn't)
