The Nordy Club is Nordstrom's free loyalty program for US residents, and it pays out in Nordstrom Notes. Members earn 1 point per $1 at Nordstrom by giving their mobile number at checkout, and cardmembers earn 2 or 3 points per $1 when they pay with a Nordstrom card. Every 1,000 points converts to a $10 Note, which works at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Four levels (Member, Influencer, Ambassador and Icon) are unlocked by what you spend in a calendar year, and the top level is open only to Nordstrom cardmembers.

How to join The Nordy Club
Joining is free and open to any US resident aged 18 or over. You can join online or by asking a salesperson in a store. Members give their first name, last name, mobile number and email address, and Nordstrom texts a code to verify the number. Corporations, groups and associations can't join.
Your mobile number is your membership identifier, so you need both a mobile number and an email address. Applying for a Nordstrom credit card enrolls you automatically, and an approved cardmember starts at Influencer status instead of Member. A Nordstrom debit card also enrolls its holder.
How you earn Nordy Club points
Points are earned on purchases at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Local, and they need to be claimed at checkout. You self-identify by paying with your Nordstrom card, by signing in with your online account linked to your Nordy Club account, or by giving your mobile number in store or online. A purchase made without any of those earns nothing.

A few rules shape what a dollar is worth:
- Net spend: points are calculated on spend after returns, discounts, taxes, shipping, tips, and anything paid with Notes or gift cards, rounded to the nearest dollar.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay: these count as using your Nordstrom card. Other contactless payments earn 1 point per $1, and you need to give your mobile number.
- Bonus points: Nordstrom runs promotions that go beyond the base rate, such as 5 points per $1 on qualifying items. They are announced mostly by email, and they follow the terms of each offer.
- Personal Double Points Days: from Influencer up, you pick days when your base points double at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Local. Influencers get 3, Ambassadors 4 and Icons 5. A day runs until 11:59pm Pacific, and it can't be combined with another bonus points offer.
- What doesn't earn: charitable donations, alcohol, certain brands and vending machines. Online gift card purchases, orders shipped outside US territories and custom or made-to-measure items earn only for cardmembers paying with their card.
- Returns: points from returned items are deducted, and a balance can go negative.
Nordstrom Rack and Last Chance purchases have not earned points since 3 June 2025, although Notes can still be spent there.
What Nordy Club points are worth
1,000 points convert to a $10 Note, which is 1 cent a point. Members and Influencers receive a $10 Note for every 1,000 points, and Ambassadors and Icons receive a $20 Note for every 2,000 points, so the value of a point doesn't change with level. Notes are issued to your account automatically.

The card changes the return more than the level does: at Ambassador or Icon level, the same $1,000 earns three times as many points on the credit card as it does with a mobile number alone.
How to redeem Nordy Club Notes
Notes can be spent on anything at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Last Chance and Nordstrom Local, online or in store, and on some services such as beauty, styling and gift wrapping.
- Online: sign in with your online account linked to your Nordy Club account, and choose your Note at checkout.
- In store: ask a salesperson to look it up. Valid ID is required to redeem a Note.
- Remaining value: a Note applies against the total purchase price including taxes and fees. If you return an item bought with a Note, the unused amount comes back as a Note.
- Limits: points and Notes have no cash value, can't be sold or transferred, and can't be used to pay a Nordstrom credit card bill. Authorized users on a card account can use the primary cardmember's Notes.
- Expiry: standard Notes expire 12 months after they are issued, and bonus Notes may have a shorter life shown on the Note.
The Nordy Club levels: Member, Influencer, Ambassador and Icon
Levels are based on your net purchase balance in the calendar year: the total of your purchases minus returns, adjustments, discounts, taxes and anything paid with Notes or Nordstrom gift cards. Spend on a Nordstrom Visa outside Nordstrom counts as well, after returns or adjustments only.

The Invite-Only Events row differs between sources. The benefits grid shows it from Influencer, while the FAQ and the terms start it at Ambassador, so the table follows the FAQ and terms.
How levels are kept and reset
Your net purchase balance resets to zero every 1 January, and the level you held at the end of the year is your minimum level for the next year. To keep it for the year after, you need to meet its threshold again by 31 December, or you drop to the level your actual spend supports. Benefits are renewed each year, and benefits that aren't used by year end are forfeited. Moving up a level only gives you the new level's allowance minus anything you already used, such as Double Points Days.
Icon is the only level you can't reach without the card: it needs $15,000 of net purchases made with a Nordstrom card.
The Nordstrom card and the Nordy Club
A Nordstrom credit card gives you Influencer status as soon as you are approved, no matter your yearly spend, plus at least twice the member earn rate and the cardmember extras in the table above. Nordstrom runs offers to attract applicants, and as of 9 September 2026 the page offered $40 off a next purchase on approval.
Cardmember benefits are tied to the account being in good standing. Missing two or more consecutive minimum monthly payments forfeits the cardmember-only benefits, and so does closing the card, but you stay a member and keep your points, Notes and level. Authorized users share some benefits, such as events and Double Points Days, but their purchases build points on the primary cardmember's account.
The birthday perk
Members get an annual birthday perk, as long as your birthday is saved in your account at least 30 days before your birthday month and you are opted in to marketing emails, since that is how it is sent. The value isn't published. The Nordy Club page says it can be used at Nordstrom.com, Nordstrom Rack stores and NordstromRack.com during your birthday month, while the FAQ says it is a one-time use at Nordstrom Rack stores and NordstromRack.com, with a $10.01 minimum purchase.
Do Nordy Club points expire?
Yes. All points expire after 12 consecutive months without Nordy Club activity, which means earning points, redeeming Notes, or returning an item that earned points or Notes. Any of those resets the clock, and Nordstrom's FAQ makes keeping track of your activity the member's job. A monthly email shows your balance and how many points you need for your next Note.
Cancelling your membership, by calling 1.888.246.8720, forfeits all points and Notes. So does a membership cancelled for inactivity. Cardmembers remain enrolled as long as they have an open card.
What Nordstrom doesn't publish
- Which brands are excluded from earning (ask a salesperson, according to the terms).
- What a Beauty Perk, a Rack Up Reward or the birthday perk is worth.
- How often bonus points offers run.
- The level thresholds on the Nordy Club page. They are in the FAQ and terms only, along with the calendar-year reset, the 12-month expiry and the $20 Note for 2,000 points.
The fine print
- Nordstrom can change or end the program, its benefits or its structure at any time, even when that changes what points and Notes are worth.
- Points and Notes have no cash value, and members have no ownership interest in them.
- Benefits not used in the calendar year are forfeited.
- Free 2-business-day shipping applies to eligible items in select areas.
- Same-day delivery and the dining or spa experience are in select locations.
- The terms say that if the program materials and the terms disagree, the terms govern.
What stands out about The Nordy Club
A phone number is the login. In a store, giving your mobile number is enough to earn, so members don't need an app, a card or a barcode. That takes the friction out of earning at the register.
The card sets the rate, and the spend sets the status. Two ladders run side by side. Spend decides your level, while the card decides how many points each dollar earns and whether Icon is possible at all. A non-cardmember who spends $15,000 a year still earns 1 point per $1, and Ambassador is their ceiling.
Status is largely services, not discounts. Alterations, styling, early access to the Anniversary Sale, events and customer care make up most of the upper levels, and the reward currency stays a flat 1 cent a point throughout. That suggests the higher levels cost Nordstrom service time more than margin.
Members pick their own bonus days. Personal Double Points Days give members control over when they earn extra, and the allowance grows with level.
Nordstrom reported in its May 2024 earnings remarks that sales to Nordy Club members reached nearly 70 percent of total sales in the first quarter of fiscal 2024.
What members should know going in:
- The base earn is 1%. Without a Nordstrom card, a point is worth 1 cent per dollar spent, and the better rates need the card.
- Notes have a clock. Standard Notes expire 12 months after they are issued, and points expire after a year of inactivity.
- Rack no longer earns. The page lists perks at Nordstrom Rack, but Rack purchases don't earn points.
- Levels reset on their own schedule. You keep a level through the next year only if you meet its threshold again.
Is The Nordy Club worth joining?
Yes, if you shop at Nordstrom at all. Joining is free, and the cost of earning is giving a mobile number at checkout. The 1% base is modest but real, and Notes can be spent on anything at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack.
Occasional shopper: join and use your mobile number so purchases earn. Check the monthly email so points don't lapse.
Regular shopper under $500 a year: join. Reaching Influencer at $500 unlocks Double Points Days and priority access.
Heavy shopper: the Nordstrom card is where the program pays. At 3 points per $1 the return triples, and Ambassador and Icon bring services such as in-home styling and free alterations. The card is a credit product, so it only makes sense if you would pay the balance in full.
What Shopify brands can learn from The Nordy Club
Nordstrom runs a retail-scale program, but several of its mechanics translate to smaller Shopify brands:
- Make identification effortless. Nordstrom needs a phone number at the counter and a signed-in account online. If you sell in store or at pop-ups as well as online, let staff look a customer up by phone or email at the till so in-person purchases earn too.
- Let status be spend-based, and keep it for a year. Calendar-year spend thresholds with a carry-over year are simple to explain and keep early members engaged.
- Fill the upper levels with things that cost time, not margin. Early access, event invitations, free alterations or repairs, and personal styling can feel premium without more discount.
- Hold the point value steady and vary the earn rate. One point is always worth 1 cent here. Changing the rate by level or payment method is easier to follow than changing what a point buys.
- Give members a day of their own. A chosen double points day gives customers a reason to plan a purchase.
