Starface Rewards is the free points program from Starface, the acne patch and skincare brand behind Hydro-Stars. Members earn 1 point for every $1 they spend, plus bonus points for signing up, a second purchase, birthdays, reviews and social follows, and redeem them at checkout at a flat 100 points for $5 off. Spending moves members through three VIP tiers, Stellar, Cosmic and Galactic, which raise the earning rate and add perks like early access and free shipping.

Last checked on 23 October 2026 against Starface's rewards page and the rewards section of its FAQ.

How to join Starface Rewards

Creating a Starface account enrolls you in the program, and joining is free. The rewards page promises 100 points for creating an account, which is already enough for a $5 reward. The FAQ gives a smaller figure, saying existing account holders will find 50 points waiting when they log in.

Points only count from the day you join: purchases made before joining don't earn retroactively. Starface's US, UK and Canadian sites run separate balances, and points can only be used in one of them, so the FAQ recommends keeping a single rewards account for the country you live in.

Two of the bonuses are milestones rather than one-off actions: 100 points for making a second purchase and another 100 once you've spent $150. Reaching Cosmic or Galactic also pays an entry bonus of 50 or 100 points.

Reviews only earn points for verified buyers, and the review has to use the same email address as your rewards account. Starface says reviews can take up to two weeks to publish, plus a few more days for the points to appear. Purchases only earn while you're logged in: an order placed while logged out isn't eligible.

What Starface points are worth

Starface prices every reward at the same rate, so a point is always worth 5 cents. The base earning rate of 1 point per $1 works out at 5% back, and the tier multipliers raise that to 6.25% at Cosmic and 7.5% at Galactic.

RewardPointsSpend needed at StellarAt Cosmic (1.25x)At Galactic (1.5x)
$5 off100$100$80$67
$10 off200$200$160$134
$15 off300$300$240$200
$20 off400$400$320$267

Spend from purchase points only, before sign-up, milestone, birthday and other bonuses.

Bonuses shorten that a lot. With the 100 sign-up points from the rewards page, a new member can redeem $5 straight away, and the second-purchase and $150 milestones are each another $5. The VIP tiers also list double points days at 2x for Stellar, 2.5x for Cosmic and 3x for Galactic, which would mean 10%, 12.5% and 15% back on those days. The rewards page doesn't say how often double points days run.

How to redeem Starface points

Redeeming happens at checkout: once you have enough points, you select a reward and it comes off the order. Rewards come in four sizes, $5, $10, $15 and $20, for 100, 200, 300 and 400 points.

If an order is cancelled, the points it earned are removed. A replacement sent for a faulty product doesn't earn extra points, though the original order's points stay.

Starface VIP tiers and perks

TierSpendPoints multiplierPerks
Stellar$0 to $991x2x double points days, 100 birthday points, 100 anniversary points
Cosmic$100 to $1991.25x50 points on entry, 2.5x double points days, 200 birthday and anniversary points, early access to new drops, free shipping on orders of $25+
Galactic$200+1.5x100 points on entry, 3x double points days, 300 birthday and anniversary points, early access to new drops, free shipping on all orders

Once you reach a tier you keep it for 12 months. If you haven't kept earning within that tier after a year, Starface moves you to the tier that matches the points you've earned.

Starface refer a friend

The referral offer is give $10, get $10. A friend gets $10 off their first order, which has to be at least $40, and you get $10 back in your Starface account when they buy. Starface asks you to use the same email address that received your referral code. At the program's redemption rate, $10 is worth the same as 200 points.

The fine print

  • Points expire after one year of inactivity on your account.
  • Points earn only on orders placed while logged in, and not on purchases made before you joined.
  • Balances are separate on the US, UK and Canadian sites, and points can only be used in one.
  • Cancelled orders lose their points; replacements for faulty products don't earn extra.
  • Reviews earn points only from verified buyers using the rewards account's email address.
  • Points from more than one email address can be combined once, by emailing Starface.
  • Starface's general terms of service don't include a rewards section; the program's rules sit on the rewards page and in the FAQ.

What stands out about Starface Rewards

The value is easy to see. One point per dollar and 100 points for $5 means a member can work out a reward in their head, and the 5% base return is spelled out by the program's own numbers.

It is built around the second order. A bonus for making two purchases and another for passing $150 both reward the step that turns a first-time buyer into a regular. For a brand selling low-priced products like acne patches, the second order matters more than any single basket.

The tier thresholds fit the basket. Cosmic starts at $100 of spend and Galactic at $200, levels a regular customer of a low-priced brand can actually reach, and the entry bonuses of 50 and 100 points make each step up feel like a reward rather than just a new label.

What members should know going in:

  • The rewards page and the FAQ disagree. The rewards page sets tiers by spend ($100 and $200) while the FAQ sets them by points (150 and 400), and the sign-up bonus is 100 points on one and 50 on the other.
  • Cosmic's shipping perk may match the standard offer. The FAQ says standard shipping rates apply in the first two tiers and that all orders over $25 are eligible for free shipping, so free shipping on $25+ at Cosmic may be what every customer already gets.
  • Logging in matters. Orders placed while logged out don't earn, and Starface doesn't add the points afterwards.

Is Starface Rewards worth joining?

If you buy Starface more than once, yes. It's free, a point is worth 5 cents, and the sign-up and second-purchase bonuses pay out a first reward early. A 5% base return, rising to 7.5% at Galactic, is a real rebate on everyday purchases.

Occasional buyers will mostly benefit from the bonuses: the sign-up points and the second-purchase milestone are worth $10 between them. Regular customers who pass $200 get the most, with a 1.5x multiplier, free shipping on every order and early access to new drops.

What Shopify brands can learn from Starface's program

Starface's program shows how much a simple structure can do. Four ideas carry over to most brands:

  1. Make the point value obvious. A round earn rate and a flat redemption rate let customers see what they're earning without doing maths.
  2. Reward the second purchase. A milestone bonus for the second order, and another at a spend level just above a typical first basket, targets the step that decides whether a first-time buyer comes back.
  3. Size tier thresholds to your basket. Thresholds a regular customer can reach in a few orders keep the tiers motivating.
  4. Scale event multipliers by tier. Double points days that are worth more at higher tiers give members a reason to climb.

If you're building a Shopify loyalty program like this, Mage covers most of the list. Purchases can earn at a rate such as 1 point per $1, with bonus points for signups, birthdays, account anniversaries, reviews and social follows. VIP tiers can run on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, with higher tiers earning 1.5x, 2x or 3x. Bonus Points Campaigns run multiplier events like 2x points for a weekend, and punch cards on higher plans reward goals like "2 orders in 30 days". Fixed-amount rewards apply at Shopify checkout with no code for the customer to copy.

Frequently asked questions

Is Starface Rewards free? Yes. Creating a Starface account enrolls you in the program at no cost, and new members get sign-up points: 100 according to the rewards page, 50 according to the FAQ.

How much is a Starface point worth? 5 cents. Every reward is priced at the same rate: 100 points for $5 off, up to 400 points for $20 off. At 1 point per $1 spent, that's 5% back, rising to 7.5% at the Galactic tier.

Do Starface points expire? Yes, after one year of inactivity on your account. Tier status lasts 12 months once you reach a tier.

How does Starface refer a friend work? You give a friend $10 off their first order, which has to be $40 or more, and you get $10 back in your Starface account when they buy.

Can I use Starface points in the UK or Canada? Only on the site where you earned them. Starface's US, UK and Canadian sites keep separate balances, so points can only be used in one country.

Do I get points if I forget to log in? No. Orders placed while logged out aren't eligible for points, so log in to the account with your rewards email before you check out.
