GHOST Rewards, officially the GHOST Loyalty Program, is the free points program from GHOST, the sports nutrition and lifestyle brand. You earn points by shopping on the GHOST site or app, entering the four-word code inside each supplement tub, referring friends and unlocking badges, then spend them on almost any product in the store. A second balance, Status Qualifying Points, moves you up four tiers from Member to Gold.

Last checked on 23 October 2026 against GHOST's loyalty page and program terms (last updated 7 July 2023).

This guide is written by Graeme, co-founder of Mage, a loyalty and customer accounts platform for Shopify.

How to join GHOST Rewards

Creating an account on ghostlifestyle.com or in the GHOST app enrolls you automatically, and no purchase is needed. You need to be 18 or over and live in one of the eligible regions. If you live elsewhere you can still collect points, but you can't redeem them. GHOST allows one account per person.

A new account starts with 100 points. The earning history logs them as a "Member" badge: 100 Reward Points and no Status Qualifying Points, so the welcome bonus is spendable but doesn't count toward a tier.

The dashboard shows four balances: Loyalty Points Balance (what you can spend), Lifetime Points Earned, Tier Points Earned (this year's Status Qualifying Points) and Lifetime Tier Points Earned. Below them is a wall of 52 badges, all greyed out for a new member apart from the Member badge, and an earning history that splits every entry into Reward Points, Bonus Reward Points and Status Qualifying Points.

Supplements work differently from everything else. Buying a tub on GHOST's site doesn't earn points at checkout: the points come from the card inside the tub, which carries a four-word code you enter in your account. Tubs bought from a retailer earn nothing at the till either, but the code inside counts the same way. Sample packets and sticks earn no Status Qualifying Points.

You have to be signed in when you order for a purchase to earn. Badges add bonus points for things like using an athlete's code at checkout or buying a limited edition bundle, and some badges also give Status Qualifying Points.

What GHOST points are worth

GHOST doesn't publish a value per point, but every product has a points price. Logged in, collection pages get a Cash or Points switch that swaps the dollar prices for points.

Comparing the cash and points prices of 61 full-price products on 23 October 2026, leaving out sale items and Subscribe & Save prices, shows what a point buys. A sample:

Clear Gains$64.9916,0000.41 cents
Creatine$24.996,0000.42 cents
Hydration Sticks, 24 pack$29.997,0000.43 cents
Athletics Tee$34.997,0000.50 cents
Strides Hoodie$59.9912,0000.50 cents
Logo Shaker$13.992,5000.56 cents

Prices from ghostlifestyle.com collection pages, 23 October 2026.

Across all 61 products, the median is 0.47 cents per point, with a range of 0.30 to 0.56 cents. Points go further on apparel and merch (a median of 0.50 cents across 37 products) than on supplements (0.41 cents across 24). In round numbers, 1,000 points buys about $4 of supplements or $5 of apparel. That puts the 100-point welcome bonus at roughly 40 to 50 cents, and the 500-point referral reward at about $2 to $2.50 of product.

GHOST doesn't publish how many points a dollar of spending earns, so members can't work out the return on an order in advance. The loyalty page calls purchase points "a simple way to earn a few more points", and that is as specific as it gets.

How to redeem GHOST points and codes

To spend points, sign in, switch prices to points or choose Buy With Points on the product page, pick your product and flavour, and add it to your cart. GHOST says every product on its site can be bought with dollars or points, though some limited editions aren't available for points at launch. Only members in the eligible regions can redeem.

Tub codes go in through your account. Open the dashboard, select Code Entry and type the four words, one per box. GHOST's how-to shows a limit of 10 codes per month, and the terms let GHOST ask for proof that you hold the physical card before it awards the points.

GHOST status tiers and perks

TierStatus Qualifying Points in a calendar yearWhat it adds
Member0Earn and redeem points, birthday points
Bronze5,000Exclusive merch, exclusive offers and promotions
Silver12,500Bonus points on all purchases, free shipping on points purchases
Gold25,000Free standard shipping on all purchases, early access to launches

Each tier keeps the perks of the tiers below it. Status Qualifying Points reset to zero at midnight Central time on 1 January. Once you reach Bronze, Silver or Gold, the status lasts for the rest of that year and all of the next. To keep it, you need the tier's entry threshold again by the end of that period; otherwise you drop to the tier your points match.

Two details matter if you shop near a threshold. GHOST can hold back an upgrade until the return period on the qualifying purchase has passed, and a return removes the points it earned, which can drop you one or more tiers. GHOST doesn't state the size of the Silver and Gold bonus, only that higher tiers earn "point multipliers".

Spending points never costs you status, because only Status Qualifying Points count toward a tier.

The fine print

  • Reward Points expire if you go 18 months without earning or spending any.
  • Points have no cash value and can't be transferred to another member.
  • Purchases from any channel other than GHOST's site or app earn nothing directly; only the code inside a tub counts.
  • You must be signed in at the time of purchase, or contact GHOST support with proof of purchase.
  • Outside the eligible regions you can earn points but not redeem them.
  • Closing your account loses all your points, and rejoining starts again from zero.
  • GHOST can change or end the program at any time, and promises prior notice of significant changes that hurt members.
  • Joining counts as consent to GHOST marketing, which you can unsubscribe from.

What stands out about GHOST Rewards

The tub code is the clever part. GHOST sells through retailers as well as its own site, and a sale in a store normally tells a brand nothing about who bought. The card inside every full-size tub turns that anonymous sale into a GHOST account, a points balance and a reason to come back to GHOST's own site. The 10-codes-a-month limit and the right to ask for the physical card keep codes tied to real purchases.

Two balances keep status safe. Because tiers run on Status Qualifying Points and spending runs on Reward Points, redeeming never pushes a member down a tier. In a program where one balance decides both, spending points can cost a customer their status; GHOST's split removes that trade-off.

Status lasts. Qualify for Gold in March and you keep it until the end of the following year, close to two years of free shipping. That rewards a strong year without forcing a December rush.

What members should know going in:

  • The earn rate isn't published. There's no points-per-dollar figure on the loyalty page or in the terms, so it's hard to say in advance what an order earns or how far away the 25,000-point Gold threshold is in dollars.
  • The referral favours the friend. The friend gets 20% off a first order, about $11 on a $54.99 tub of whey, while the member who referred them gets 500 points, worth about $2 to $2.50 of product.
  • The terms are light on detail. They were last updated in July 2023, describe Member as "0-5,000" while Bronze starts at 5,000, and don't give the size of the tier multipliers.

Is GHOST Rewards worth joining?

If you buy GHOST at all, yes. It's free, it pays 100 points on sign-up, and tub codes earn on products you've already bought, wherever you bought them. Treat the points as a small rebate rather than a discount: at 0.4 to 0.5 cents each, it takes thousands of them to cover a product.

Apparel and merch buyers get about a fifth more value per point than supplement buyers. Regular customers on GHOST's own site get the most from status, where Gold's free standard shipping on every order is the most valuable perk on the table. If you mainly buy tubs in stores, join for the codes and expect to save up for something small like a shaker or a tee.

What Shopify brands can learn from GHOST's program

GHOST's program is worth studying even if you'll never sell a pre-workout. Five ideas carry over to most brands:

  1. Give retail buyers a reason to create an account. A code on the pack or a receipt upload turns a stockist sale into a customer you can reach.
  2. Keep status separate from spending. Base tiers on what customers earn or spend, not their current balance, so redeeming never costs them status.
  3. Show prices in points. A points price on every product makes a balance feel real in a way a "1,000 points" figure doesn't.
  4. Let status last. Calendar-year qualification, with status carried through the following year, rewards a good year without a deadline scramble.
  5. Give new members something on day one. GHOST's 100-point badge means nobody starts at zero.

If you're building a Shopify loyalty program like this, Mage covers most of the list. Points can reward signups, birthdays, referrals and purchases. VIP tiers can run on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, reset each calendar year, and protect a customer's status for twelve months after they earn it. Receipt scanning, on the Growth plan and above, lets customers snap a receipt from a stockist and earn points on the same balance as their online orders. Points balance, tier progress and referral code can also sit in a branded on-site account drawer with Mage Accounts.

Frequently asked questions

Is GHOST Rewards free? Yes. Creating an account on the GHOST site or app enrolls you in the program, with no purchase or fee, and new members get 100 points from the Member badge.

How much are 1,000 GHOST points worth? About $4 to $5 of product. Across 61 full-price products on 23 October 2026, a point was worth 0.30 to 0.56 cents, with a median of 0.47 cents. Points go further on apparel and merch than on supplements.

Do GHOST points expire? Reward Points expire after 18 months with no earning or spending on your account. Status Qualifying Points reset to zero every 1 January, though any tier you've reached carries through the following year.

Can I earn GHOST points on products bought in a store? Not on the purchase itself, but full-size supplement tubs contain a card with a four-word code. Entering it in your GHOST account earns points, wherever you bought the tub.

How many GHOST codes can I enter a month? Up to 10, according to GHOST's code entry guide. GHOST can also ask for proof that you have the physical card.

Do returns affect my GHOST status? Yes. Returning an order removes the points it earned, which can drop you one or more tiers, and GHOST can delay an upgrade until a purchase's return period has passed.

Why Status Beats Discounts: The Psychology of VIP Tiers

Sephora's VIB Rouge members receive complimentary custom makeup consultations, exclusive early access to new product launches up to a month before general release, and invitations to private shopping events. Yet here's what's remarkable: many VIB Rouge customers spend significantly more money to maintain their status than they would need to spend if they simply bought products during standard sales. The financial discount alone doesn't explain their behavior. What actually drives them is something deeper—the unmistakable feeling of being an insider, of belonging to an elite circle that fewer customers can access.

How to Design Shopify VIP Tiers That Actually Drive Repeat Purchases

Most Shopify store owners believe their VIP program is failing because customers don't redeem enough discounts. They're wrong. The real problem? Those programs were designed to extract value, not build relationships.
