Levi's Red Tab Loyalty is Levi's free rewards program for customers in the United States and Canada. Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible merchandise, and 125 points buys $5 off, in $5 steps up to 500 points ($20) per purchase. Joining gives 100 bonus points, and members also get free ground shipping on orders of $75 or more (against $150 for non-members), free returns, a birthday bonus, and early access to product drops and member events. Levi's lists no tiers: every member earns at the same rate. Points expire one year after they're earned.

How Levi's Red Tab works
Red Tab is a flat program. You join for free, earn points on what you buy, and swap points for money off at checkout. Levi's launched the points program in the US on 15 July 2025 and in Canada on 8 July 2025, and describes Red Tab as a membership that also offers personalized benefits based on what you shop for.
You can join online at levi.com, in the Levi's app, or in a store, where an associate may ask for your email or a QR code at checkout. You must be a legal resident of the United States and 18 or older to take part in the US program.
How to earn Red Tab points
Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible purchases in participating Levi's stores, in the app and online. If your subtotal ends in $0.01 or more, it rounds up to the next whole point, so $79.01 earns 80 points.
- Not earned: tax, shipping, gift wrap and gift cards.
- Discounts: points aren't awarded on discounted amounts, so an order earns on what you actually pay for eligible items.
- Final sale items do earn points, and paying with a gift card still earns on the qualifying subtotal.
- Timing: points land after an online order ships, when a buy online pickup in store order is picked up, and during the transaction in store.
- Signed in: you need to be signed in to your Red Tab account at checkout, or points aren't applied.
- Not included: purchases at Levi's franchise stores and on the Levi's SecondHand site don't earn.
Points can build up for purchases made before you join, but you can only redeem them once you're a member. Levi's help center says there's no limit on how many points you can earn. The terms say Levi's may add per-day or per-transaction limits to prevent fraud.
Other ways to get points
New members get 100 bonus points for joining. Red Tab also pays 100 bonus points for your birthday: they're added on the first day of your birthday month, as long as you've saved your birthday to your profile. A birthday can only be changed once. Birthday points behave like normal points, with a few exclusions: they can't be used toward gift cards, gift wrap, tax or shipping, they can't be combined with certain high-discount promotions such as 30% off or more, end-of-season sales or welcome offers, and only one points-based benefit applies per transaction.
How to redeem Red Tab points

Rewards work like this:
- The first reward is 125 points. Below that, a balance can't be redeemed.
- The maximum is 500 points ($20) per transaction. Points beyond that stay in your account for later purchases. To use more, split your purchase into separate transactions.
- Levi's picks the amount. When you choose to apply points, the highest eligible reward is applied automatically. You can't choose how many points to use.
- Your purchase has to be worth at least the reward.
- Points can't be used on tax, shipping, gift wrap or gift cards, and they have no cash value.
- Rewards can usually be combined with other promotions, unless a promotion says otherwise.
- Where: online, in the app and at participating stores.
At 1 point per $1, 125 points is $125 of spending, so each $5 reward is worth 4% back at every step.
Red Tab member benefits
Levi's lists these benefits for every member:
- Free ground shipping on orders of $75 or more after discounts, against $150 for non-members.
- Free returns when you're signed in as a registered member at checkout.
- 100 bonus points when you join, and 100 for your birthday.
- Early access to product drops and exclusive member events.
- Free same-day standard hemming on jeans bought at a Levi's Mainline store, redeemed at a Levi's Tailor Shop in the US with the code RTFREEHEM. It isn't valid on Outlet or levi.com purchases.
- In-store services: personalization such as embroidery and patches, style support, and repairs that start at $5.
Levi's says benefits are customized as you become a more involved member, based on what you shop for, the events you attend and the offers you use. Benefits can change at any time without notice.
What happens to points when you return something
When you return an item, the points you earned on it are removed. If you paid with points, those points go back to your account with their original expiry date, and a partial return is handled proportionally. Your balance never goes negative: if a return takes back more than you've earned, it resets to zero. Points from a double-points promotion are deducted at the same amount that was earned.
Do Red Tab points expire?
Yes. Points expire one year (365 days) after they become available in your account. When they expire, they're removed and can't be used for rewards. Deleting your Red Tab account removes all points permanently, and points can't be transferred to another account.
The fine print
- Benefits, points rules and the program itself can change at any time, without notice.
- Points are only earned when you're signed in. Guest checkouts don't earn, and in most cases points can't be added afterwards. For an in-store purchase made as a guest, Levi's may add points manually if you contact it within 14 days with a receipt, and only if your account existed before the purchase.
- Points aren't awarded on discounted amounts, taxes, shipping, gift wrap or gift cards.
- Franchise stores and the SecondHand site are excluded.
- A purchase has to be worth at least the reward you apply.
- Points expire a year after they're available, and can't be exchanged for cash.
What stands out about Levi's Red Tab
It's flat. One earn rate, one set of benefits and no tiers listed. A customer who spends $125 and one who spends $5,000 earn at the same rate.
The reward ladder doesn't bend. Every step is $5 per 125 points, so every reward is worth 4% of what you spent to earn it.
The $20 limit shapes how points are spent. A member with 2,000 points can only apply $20 to any single purchase, so a big balance is spent over several visits.
The join bonus sits just below the first reward. New members get 100 points, and the first reward needs 125, so a small first purchase is enough to reach it.
Shipping is priced with a gap. Free shipping starts at $75 for members and $150 for non-members, so signing in lowers the bar.
What members should know going in:
- Points expire in a year, and the $20 limit means large balances take several orders to use.
- You can't choose how many points to use. Levi's applies the highest reward available.
- Signing in matters. Guest checkouts don't earn points.
Is Levi's Red Tab worth joining?
Yes. It's free, you get 100 points straight away, and free returns and the lower free shipping threshold apply as soon as you're signed in. If you shop at Levi's a few times a year, 4% back on top of free shipping from $75 is a modest but real saving. Spend regularly and the one-year expiry and $20 per order limit are the things to plan around.
What Shopify brands can learn from Levi's Red Tab
Red Tab is a good model for a brand that wants something simple to explain and run. A few ideas carry over:
- Say one number and mean it. 125 points for $5 on every step keeps the return the same for every customer, so the program is easy to understand.
- Set a lower free-shipping threshold for members. $75 for members and $150 for everyone else gives customers a reason to sign in, and costs little on orders that would have cleared the higher bar anyway.
- Cap redemption per order. A $20 limit turns a points balance into a reason to come back, and keeps each reward in proportion to the basket.
- Put the join bonus just below the first reward. It gives new members a visible balance and a goal.
