Plan

Everyone billable, not just marketing subscribers.

Total emails, so list size times campaigns.

Klaviyo has billed on active profiles since February 2025. That means anyone in your account who could be emailed, including people who never opted into marketing. Suppressed and deleted profiles are not billed, so clearing out dead records is the fastest way to drop a tier.

How the Klaviyo Pricing Calculator works

  1. Step 1. Find your active profile countIn Klaviyo this is under billing, and it is usually higher than your marketing subscriber count.
  2. Step 2. Add your monthly email sendsList size multiplied by campaigns per month, plus flow sends. Each tier includes a send allowance.
  3. Step 3. Choose email or email plus SMSSMS is billed as a separate credit bundle rather than per profile, so enter what you expect to spend.
  4. Step 4. Read your estimateYou get the billable tier, monthly and annual cost, and a warning if your sends exceed the allowance.

Frequently asked questions

Klaviyo is free up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month. Paid plans start at $20 a month for 500 profiles, rising to $30 at 1,000, $100 at 5,000, $150 at 10,000, $720 at 50,000 and around $2,300 at 250,000. Above that the price is negotiated rather than published.

You pay a monthly fee based on the number of active profiles in your account, and each tier includes a monthly email send allowance. SMS is charged separately as a credit bundle. There is no per-email charge inside your allowance, so the cost driver is list size rather than how often you send.

Anyone in your account who could be emailed, whether or not they ever subscribed to marketing. Since February 2025 Klaviyo has billed on active profiles rather than subscribers, so customers who checked out without opting in still count. This is why a store with 4,000 subscribers can find itself billed for 9,000 profiles.

Almost always because active profiles outnumber marketing subscribers. Every customer record, every form fill and every imported list adds to the billable count. Crossing a tier boundary by even a handful of profiles moves you to the next price step, so a list that grows from 5,001 to 5,100 costs the same as one at 5,500.

Suppress or delete profiles that will never buy again, since suppressed profiles are not billed. Run a sunset flow for people who have not opened anything in six to twelve months. Stop importing lists you have no intention of emailing. Because pricing steps at tier boundaries, dropping just below a boundary can cut the bill immediately.

Yes. Up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month, with a small monthly allowance of mobile messaging credits. It is genuinely usable for a new store, though the send allowance is the constraint rather than the profile count for most people.

SMS is a separate credit bundle rather than part of the profile fee, starting around $15 a month for 1,250 credits and scaling with volume. Credits are consumed per message segment, so a long message costs more than one credit, and international sending costs considerably more than domestic.

Not on the self-serve tiers, which are billed monthly. Discounts generally appear only at enterprise volume where the contract is negotiated. Anyone budgeting should assume twelve times the monthly figure rather than expecting a prepay saving.

Each tier includes a monthly send allowance, typically ten times your profile count. Exceeding it moves you up a tier or triggers overage charges. High-frequency senders can therefore hit a higher price than their list size alone suggests, which is why this calculator asks for your planned sends as well.

Klaviyo is more expensive at most list sizes but is built specifically around ecommerce data, so segmentation on purchase behaviour is far stronger. Omnisend is usually cheaper at comparable volumes and includes SMS more generously. Mailchimp is cheapest at small sizes but weakest on ecommerce segmentation. The right answer depends on how much of your revenue comes from behavioural flows.

It is a close estimate. Klaviyo renders its pricing table dynamically, so these tiers were cross-checked against independent published breakdowns rather than scraped from a rate card, and prices vary by region and currency. Use it to budget and compare, then confirm against your own account before committing.

Not directly, since you are billed on profile count rather than on the data attached to each profile. Syncing loyalty points, tiers and rewards into Klaviyo adds no cost but usually improves revenue per send, because you can segment on redemption behaviour and tier status rather than purchase history alone.
