MANGO LIKES YOU is MANGO's free loyalty program, and its currency is called Likes. Members earn Likes on purchases and on a handful of actions, such as recycling clothes in store, and spend them as a discount on MANGO-branded products once they have 1,000. MANGO's terms put a Like at half a cent, so 1,000 Likes is $5, and the program has no tiers or levels. The two things worth knowing first: MANGO's Club page says 6 Likes per $1 while its terms say 4, and the birthday gift is 1,000 Likes that expire after 30 days.

Last checked against the US Mango likes you Club page (as of 4 September 2026), the Club help (as of 6 June 2026) and the US program terms (version dated 02/04/2026, as of 13 February 2026). This guide covers the US program; other markets have their own terms.

This guide is written by Graeme, co-founder of Mage, a loyalty and customer accounts platform for Shopify.

How to join MANGO LIKES YOU

Joining is free and needs no purchase. In the US you are enrolled when you register a MANGO online account, on the website or in the MANGO app, or when you sign up at a participating MANGO store. Online purchases only earn Likes if you have an online account, so store sign-ups need one too. You must be 18 or older, and each person can have one account.

In store, you identify yourself with your email, your mobile number or your MANGO LIKES YOU ID, a barcode you can show from My Account in the MANGO app. Online, you log in.

The Club page describes three benefits: a surprise for your birthday, access to exclusive launches and Private Sales before anyone else, and Likes earned through purchases and actions.

How you earn Likes

On purchases, MANGO's terms give the formula as $1 spent equals 4 Likes, which they pair with a $0.02 discount. The Club page lists "+6 Likes" for every $1. MANGO doesn't explain the difference. The rate applies to the recommended retail price before tax, and sale items count at their sale price. Shipping, alterations, gift cards and the part of an order paid with Likes don't earn.

The other ways to earn:

ActionLikesValueLimit
Birthday1,000$5.00Once every 12 months; expires 30 days after it is awarded
Recycle used MANGO clothing in store200$1.00Once every 30 days, however many items you bring
Show your MANGO LIKES YOU ID with an in-store purchase10$0.05Up to 10 times every 30 days
Collect an online order in store10$0.05Combined cap of 12 every 30 days with in-store app check-ins
Install or update the MANGO app and log in10$0.05Once

The Club page also lists a +10 Likes check-in in the store, which the terms mention only as part of the 12 per 30 days cap. The birthday Likes are awarded if you gave MANGO your birthday when you registered or signed up in store. The ID and store collection Likes are extras on top of a purchase. Apart from the birthday gift, every action either puts you in a MANGO store or puts the app on your phone.

Likes are only earned on MANGO-branded products, and not at MANGO Outlet, airport stores or department store locations.

What a Like is worth

MANGO doesn't publish a separate redemption rate, but its terms attach a dollar value to every earning line: 4 Likes is $0.02, 10 Likes is $0.05, 200 Likes is $1.00 and 1,000 Likes is $5.00. That makes a Like worth half a cent, or 200 Likes to the dollar.

At that value, the two earn rates MANGO publishes give different returns:

Earn rateWhere it appearsReturn on purchasesSpend to reach 1,000 Likes
4 Likes per $1Program terms2.0%$250
6 Likes per $1Club page3.0%about $167

The actions are small by comparison. At the published limits, a member who used every one could earn at most about $30 a year from them: $5 for the birthday, $12 for monthly recycling, $6 for ID scans, $7.20 for store collections and check-ins, and $0.05 for the app.

How to redeem Likes

You need at least 1,000 Likes to redeem. Likes are exchanged for a discount on MANGO-branded products, and you can use the discount together with other MANGO promotions and sales. The discount can't take more than 50% off a product's original price before tax. Whatever Likes you don't use stay in your account with their original expiry date. You can pay the rest of the order any way you like.

Likes are available to spend within 24 hours of being awarded. They can't be exchanged for money, used on gift cards, transferred to someone else or redeemed on other brands' products.

The Club page says Likes can also be exchanged for experiences or donated to charitable projects, and the terms mention services from MANGO and its partners "as described in the Benefits section". MANGO's pages don't list those experiences or the charities.

Do Likes expire?

Yes. Each award of Likes expires one year after the day it is made, and expired Likes are deactivated automatically. The birthday gift is the exception: it expires 30 days after it is awarded. MANGO's terms don't mention a reminder before Likes expire.

Returns and leaving the program

If you return something, the Likes you earned on it are taken off your balance, and your balance can go negative until you earn more. If you paid for part of the item with Likes, they go back to your account with their original expiry date, unless they have since expired.

If you withdraw from the program, your online MANGO account is cancelled with it and you lose all your Likes.

The fine print

  • The Club page and the terms give different earn rates (6 and 4 Likes per $1).
  • The terms say MANGO can change how Likes are earned, calculated and redeemed, and their expiry, at any time, with notice if the change affects members' rights.
  • Likes aren't earned or redeemed at MANGO Outlet, airport stores or department store locations.
  • The ID bonus and the store collection bonus each have a limit per 30 days, and collections and check-ins share one limit.
  • US members can earn and redeem Likes in other countries where MANGO has launched the program, under those countries' rules.
  • The terms include an arbitration clause and a class action waiver.

What stands out about MANGO LIKES YOU

The terms put a price on every action. Most programs publish what a purchase earns and leave the rest vague. MANGO's terms give the Likes, the dollar value and the limit for each action, so the cost of the whole program is easy to work out.

The actions are built around the store. Recycling clothes, showing your ID at the till, collecting an online order in store and checking in all reward a visit. The birthday gift is the only large award, and the 30 day expiry gives it a deadline.

The birthday gift matches the minimum. The gift is 1,000 Likes, and 1,000 Likes is the least you can redeem. A member who gave their birthday can therefore reach the minimum with the gift alone, and the terms don't say a purchase is needed first.

There are no tiers. MANGO doesn't publish any levels or status, so there is no ladder to climb and no rate that changes with spending.

What members should know going in:

  • Two earn rates. Check what your first order earns in your account, since the Club page and the terms disagree.
  • The first redemption takes a while. Purchases alone need $250 of spending at 4 Likes per $1, or about $167 at 6.
  • Birthday Likes are short-lived. They need to be used within 30 days.
  • Experiences and donations aren't detailed. The pages don't list what Likes can buy beyond discounts.

Is MANGO LIKES YOU worth joining?

Yes, if you buy from MANGO. It's free, needs no purchase to join, and the birthday gift is worth $5 if you use it within 30 days. The ongoing return is modest, 2% to 3% on purchases depending on which rate applies.

If you shop in MANGO stores, the actions add a little more: recycling is worth $1 a month and the till scans a few cents each. If you rarely shop at MANGO, the one-year expiry and the 1,000 Like minimum mean you may not reach a redemption before your Likes lapse.

What Shopify brands can learn from MANGO LIKES YOU

MANGO LIKES YOU is a big retailer's program, but a few mechanics carry over to Shopify stores of any size:

  1. Put a dollar value on every earning action. A table of action, amount, value and limit shows members what each action is worth and lets you cost the program before launch.
  2. Cap the small actions. Limits per 30 days on ID scans, store collections and recycling keep a many-action program affordable.
  3. Size the birthday gift to your redemption minimum, and give it a deadline. One gift that covers a full redemption gives a new member something to use straight away, and the short expiry brings them back this month.
  4. Reward the visit if you have a physical store. Collection in store, check-ins and recycling all bring customers through the door, and they can sit alongside online earning.
  5. Skip tiers if you want a simple cost. One earn rate and no levels means your liability is a flat percentage of spending.

If you're building a Shopify loyalty program like this, Mage supports points for purchases and a Birthday Bonus that customers earn once a year after saving their birthday. Flexible rewards let customers slide their points against a value range, and points expiry can run a set number of days after points are earned. Points Drops add a one-time bonus to a Shopify customer segment on a schedule. For in-store use there is a Mage tile on the Shopify POS home screen, photo challenges and custom actions (on higher plans) that you can trigger from Shopify Flow or the API, and a Wallet Pass for Apple and Google Wallet on specific plans. We've written a step-by-step guide to setting up a loyalty program like MANGO LIKES YOU on Shopify.
