This list compares eight Shopify apps for running a loyalty or rewards program: what each costs, what you get on each plan and who each one suits. I have used all eight over the past year, so the notes under each app are what I found hands-on. For a deeper look at any of them, I link to our full review. Prices and plan details were checked against each vendor’s pricing page and Shopify listing on 2 November 2026.

We make Mage Loyalty, so it is listed first and you should read its section with that in mind. The other seven are ordered by their number of Shopify App Store reviews on 2 November 2026 (Okendo’s listing combines its reviews and loyalty products).

What I Looked At

  • Cost at your order volume. Most apps price by monthly orders, so the headline price only means something next to the orders it includes.
  • How much of the retention stack comes with it. VIP tiers, referrals, a wishlist, customer accounts and memberships are often split across plans or sold separately.
  • How it feels to run. Where the admin lives, how consistent it is and how the storefront pages look.
  • Switching. How hard it is to bring points and tiers in from another app.

Mage is first because of scope: loyalty, referrals, VIP tiers and a wishlist on one platform, with customer accounts and memberships as modules, and plans that include a set number of orders. That is our judgment, not a test result. Growave is the closest on scope, and it also bundles reviews. Mage has no free plan, and it has the shortest track record of the eight.

#1: Mage Loyalty

Mage Loyalty is a Shopify-native retention platform that puts loyalty points, referrals, VIP tiers and a built-in wishlist on one system, with customer accounts and paid memberships available as modules. It suits Shopify brands that would otherwise stitch together a loyalty app and a wishlist app and want a plan that includes a set number of orders.

Plans are Essential at $15 a month, Starter at $49, Growth at $499 and Enterprise by quote. Essential and Starter include 500 orders a month and then charge $0.20 per extra order, and Growth includes 2,500 orders and then charges $0.15. VIP tiers, bonus campaigns, Shopify POS and the wishlist start on Starter, and checkout extensions on Growth. Accounts and Memberships are Enterprise modules, and cashback is a paid module. Migration is free and managed, with importers for Yotpo and Smile.io and a typical go-live of 1 to 2 weeks.

Where it falls short: there is no free plan, and Mage is the newest app on this list, on the Shopify App Store since March 2025. Its integrations directory lists 20 apps, fewer than most of the others. You can compare the plans on the Mage Loyalty pricing page.

“Cannot say enough good things about the team at Mage Loyalty, one of the absolute best organizations we have ever worked with, full stop! So glad we connected with them, completely redid our loyalty program, new concepts, use of loyalty, increasing user engagement, showing us where we were not valuing our best customers, just WOW, amazing team!”

Smile.io: easiest way to get a first program live

Smile.io is the most established app here, with the most Shopify App Store reviews and a Built for Shopify badge (checked 2 November 2026). It suits a store launching its first loyalty program.

Hands-on: they have mastered the widget, which is polished and easy to live with. It does not feel like an enterprise app, though, and its interactive loyalty pages lag behind the other apps here. The Points page, shown below, keeps the earning rule and the reward on one screen.

Smile.io admin Points page: one earning rule (5 points per $1 spent), one reward (100 points = $1 off), and a points delay option marked as available on the Growth plan and above. Taken 31 October 2026.

Plans are Free for 200 orders a month, Essential at $15 (500 orders), Standard at $79 (1,000), Growth at $199 (2,500 orders, then $20 per 100) and Plus at $999 billed annually. VIP tiers and points expiry start on Growth, and redeeming points at checkout is limited to Shopify Plus stores. API access is on Plus and Enterprise only.

BON Loyalty: the budget option

BON is priced at the budget end of this list, and it carries a Built for Shopify badge. It suits a store that wants the lowest flat price and does not need much beyond points, referrals and VIP tiers.

Hands-on: the interface feels older and clunkier than the newer apps here.

Plans are Free for 150 orders, Starter at $15 (300 orders), Basic at $29 (500) and Growth at $129 with unlimited orders. VIP tiers start on Growth, and API and headless access need the Plus plan, which is by contact. BON’s pages do not list store credit, a wishlist or paid memberships, and its in-app analytics cover the most recent 90 days.

Okendo: best if you also want reviews from the same vendor

Okendo sells reviews, loyalty, referrals, quizzes and surveys as separate products on one platform. Loyalty is optional, so it suits a brand that already uses or wants Okendo Reviews and would rather buy loyalty from the same vendor.

Hands-on: Okendo has come a long way recently, and its loyalty pages and features are catching up. I found the admin sits outside Shopify and felt clunky.

Okendo Loyalty is priced by monthly order volume, and no loyalty price is published: you speak to sales. Its VIP tiers are spend-based only, and per its help center the tier thresholds cannot be changed after launch.

Rivo: widest suite, aimed at enterprise brands

Rivo covers loyalty, referrals, VIP tiers, customer accounts and cashback, and I would recommend it for enterprise brands because of that breadth. It has been on the Shopify App Store since January 2021.

Hands-on: I had a working program with a widget in about 15 minutes, though a more sophisticated program takes much longer. The admin is consistent and easy to navigate but feels dated, and the storefront widget does the job without looking as modern as some others. The program page, shown below, puts the reward value rate and cost per point next to the rules.

Rivo loyalty program page: the program enabled, a setup overview with a reward value rate of 1.0% and a cost per point of 0.01 pounds, earning actions for sign up and placing an order with birthday and product review switched off, and three coupon rewards at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 points. Taken 2 November 2026.

Plans are Free for 200 orders, Essentials at $15 (500 orders), Scale from $49 and Plus at $499 (2,500 orders). VIP tiers start on Scale. Customer accounts, which hold the wishlist, start at $499 a month and cashback at $199 a month, both as separate products.

Growave: loyalty, reviews and wishlist in one app

Growave is the only app here that lists loyalty, a wishlist and native reviews in one product, and it has a Built for Shopify badge. It suits a store that wants all three from one vendor.

Hands-on: the UI is old and clunky, but it has the full suite.

Plans are Entry at $15 (500 orders, then $20 per 100), Growth at $199 (1,500 orders), Plus at $499 (3,000) and Unlimited at $999. The wishlist and photo reviews start on Entry, and VIP tiers, store credit and video reviews on Growth. Checkout extensions and the headless API are on Plus.

Yotpo: best if you already use Yotpo Reviews or sell on several platforms

Yotpo Loyalty sits inside a wider retention suite and, unlike most apps here, also runs on BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and WooCommerce. It suits brands that already use Yotpo Reviews or sell across more than one storefront.

Hands-on: Yotpo’s loyalty pages feel the same from brand to brand. They are built from the same recognisable blocks, so your page can end up looking like other Yotpo merchants’, and the experience feels dated. The Rewards Program page, shown below, is the starting point.

Yotpo Loyalty Rewards Program page: a New Member Reward of 25 points and a points for purchases rule at 1 point per $1 spent, a fixed amount off reward at 100, 200 and 400 points, and a Rewards Sticky Bar preview. Taken 31 October 2026.

There is a Free plan, and Pro starts at $199 a month including 500 orders, then $0.20, $0.10 and $0.05 per order as volume rises. VIP tiers need Premium, which is quoted on request.

LoyaltyLion: feature rich, with a $199 entry plan

LoyaltyLion is built exclusively for Shopify, and its entry plan is $199 a month. It suits brands with larger programs that want depth and have the budget for it.

Hands-on: it is feature rich, but its admin sits outside the Shopify admin.

Classic is $199 a month and includes 500 orders, with API and headless access on every plan. VIP tiers are an optional add-on on Classic and included on the custom Advanced plan. Its Shopify listing also shows a free plan for up to 400 orders.

How to Choose the Best Shopify Rewards App for Your Store

  • Starting out under about 500 orders a month: Mage, Smile.io, Rivo, Growave and BON all have a $15 entry plan, and most of the others have a free plan too. Compare what each includes at your order count before you compare prices.
  • You want VIP tiers without a large bill: they start at $49 on Mage (Starter) and Rivo (Scale), $129 on BON, $199 on Smile.io and Growave, and by quote on Yotpo.
  • You want a wishlist or reviews in the same app: Growave includes both, Mage includes a wishlist from Starter, Rivo’s wishlist is inside its $499 Accounts product, and Okendo sells reviews as a separate product.
  • You care how it feels to run: install two or three and click around. My notes above are one person’s experience, and the admin you prefer is a personal call.
  • You are moving from another app: Mage offers free managed migration, and Okendo’s importer accepts Yotpo, LoyaltyLion and Smile files. Smile.io imports by CSV. Check balances and tiers after any import.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best loyalty app for Shopify?

It depends on your order volume and what you need. For the lowest cost I would look at BON and the free plans at Smile.io and Rivo. For a first program I would start with Smile.io, and for the widest suite on a larger brand, Rivo. Growave covers loyalty, wishlist and reviews in one app. For loyalty, referrals, VIP tiers and a wishlist on one Shopify-native platform with orders included in the plan, we list Mage first, with the caveat that we make it.

How much does a Shopify loyalty app cost?

Entry paid plans at Mage, Smile.io, Rivo, Growave and BON start at $15 a month, while LoyaltyLion’s Classic and Yotpo’s Pro start at $199. VIP tiers usually need a higher plan, from $49 to $199 on most of these apps. Prices checked 2 November 2026, so confirm them on each vendor’s pricing page.

Which Shopify loyalty apps include a wishlist?

Growave includes one from its Entry plan and Mage from Starter. Rivo’s wishlist sits inside its Accounts product from $499 a month. The other apps’ pages do not list a wishlist.

Can I switch loyalty apps without losing points?

Usually, yes. Mage offers free managed migration with importers for Yotpo and Smile.io, with a typical go-live of 1 to 2 weeks. Smile.io imports points by CSV, and Okendo’s importer accepts Yotpo, LoyaltyLion and Smile files. Check balances and VIP tiers after the import.
