Moroccanoil Rewards is Moroccanoil's free loyalty program for shoppers on its US website. Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent, plus points for actions such as following the brand, signing up for texts and emails, writing a review and taking the Hair Quiz. Points are redeemed for full-size products from the Rewards Boutique or for $10 to $20 off an order, and they are worth about 8 cents each. Three tiers, Original, Icon and Gold, start at 0, 150 and 400 points. Every member gets free shipping and free returns, and points expire after 12 months of inactivity.

Last checked on 28 October 2026 against Moroccanoil's Rewards page, FAQ, Rewards terms and conditions (last updated October 2026), shipping policy and refund policy, for the US in US dollars.

How to join Moroccanoil Rewards

You join on the Rewards page at moroccanoil.com by creating an account with your name, phone number, mailing address and email address, or by signing in if you already have one. Enrollment is free and no purchase is needed. Membership is limited to legal residents of the US, including its territories and possessions, who are 18 or over, or the age of majority where they live if that is older, and each person can hold one account. Only one account can be linked to an email address, and Moroccanoil employees and their dependents can't join. Companies and other groups can't hold accounts.

A new account starts in the Original tier and earns 20 points for creating the account. Moroccanoil Rewards is available on the US website only. Shoppers who were members of Moroccanoil's earlier program, Beauty Circle, could carry their points and status across when they activated a Rewards account.

Points are earned on online purchases on moroccanoil.com, excluding taxes, shipping charges, employee discounts, commercial account purchases, charitable donations, returns and refunds, and items paid for with a gift card, merchandise credits or other rewards. To earn, you must be signed in at purchase or give your member email. If you return an item, the matching points are taken back from your balance.

Points from a purchase land in your account once the order has shipped, and points from other actions can appear immediately. Newly awarded points can't be redeemed for 72 hours.

Reviews come with extra steps. About two to three weeks after an order, Moroccanoil emails an invitation to rate and review the products. Only reviews posted through that email earn the 20 points, and reviews written directly on a product page don't. A review also needs an account order, so guest orders and purchases made elsewhere don't qualify.

The referral program is "Give $10, get $10". A friend gets $10 toward a first order of $80 or more, and the friend must use your referral code when creating a Rewards account.

What Moroccanoil Rewards points are worth

Moroccanoil doesn't state what a point is worth. Dividing the dollar price of the Rewards Boutique products by their points price gives a consistent answer, about 8 cents a point.

Rewards Boutique product (full size)PointsUS list priceValue per point
Hand Cream Fragrance Originale275$228.0 cents
Moisture Repair Shampoo375$308.0 cents
Moisture Repair Conditioner375$308.0 cents

Dollars offPointsMinimum purchaseValue per point
$10125$808.0 cents
$15200$1007.5 cents
$20275$1207.3 cents

Because members earn 1 point per $1, the best redemptions return about 8% of base spending as product or discount (our arithmetic). Prices are US list prices from moroccanoil.com on 28 October 2026, and the points prices come from the Rewards page on the same day. The FAQ says the products available through the Rewards Boutique change during the year, so the line-up above will move.

A few other numbers help put it in context. The one-time actions in the earn table add up to 125 points if each is counted once (20 for the account, 10 each for Instagram, TikTok and Auto-Replenish, 15 each for SMS and email, 20 for a review and 25 for the Hair Quiz), which is exactly the cost of the $10 reward (our arithmetic). The 20 points for creating an account are worth $1.60. The minimum purchase for each dollar reward is 6 to 8 times its value, which ties every dollar reward to a bigger basket.

How it works and the redemption options on the Rewards page as of 28 October 2026.

How to redeem points

Points are redeemed from your account on moroccanoil.com, in the Rewards Boutique for a product or as a dollar discount that is applied to the order at checkout. $10 off costs 125 points on a purchase of $80 or more, $15 off costs 200 points on $100 or more and $20 off costs 275 points on $120 or more.

Every redemption needs a merchandise purchase in the basket, and rewards can't be combined with another coupon or promotion. Points can't pay for gift cards, charitable items, promotional value sets, sales tax or shipping. Rewards can only be redeemed on the website, and free gifts redeemed from the Rewards Boutique can't be refunded or exchanged. Points have no cash value and can't be transferred, gifted or sold.

The tier table on the Rewards page as of 28 October 2026.

Tiers are set by points. The FAQ says a new member is enrolled in Original automatically, and that reaching Icon takes 150 or more points and Gold 400 or more. At 1 point per $1, those thresholds sit near $150 and $400 of purchases before any action points (our arithmetic, and only if the tier counts points earned). Moroccanoil doesn't say how long a tier lasts, whether it is measured on points earned or on the current balance, or whether redeeming points can lower it.

Free shipping and free returns

Free shipping and free returns are the headline member benefit. Members get free shipping on every order, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, which carry a $35 flat rate. Non-members get free shipping on orders of $50 or more, excluding taxes, and pay standard rates under that. Returns within the continental US are free for members, and a shipping and handling fee is deducted from non-members' refunds. Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt, and Eau de Parfum is returnable for store credit only.

Auto-Replenish is a separate service that sits alongside the program. It saves 5% on every product, ships free and runs every 1 to 6 months, and the orders still earn 1 point per $1.

The fine print

  • Points expire after 12 months of inactivity. Inactivity means a member earns no points and redeems no points. The terms also let Moroccanoil expire the whole account after one year of inactivity, which removes any remaining points with no refund or extension.
  • Online only. Points are earned on moroccanoil.com while signed in. Purchases in salons or at other retailers don't earn. Moroccanoil's Professionals site, linked from the main site, is separate and isn't covered here.
  • Excluded spend. Taxes, shipping, employee discounts, commercial accounts, donations, returns and gift card or reward payments earn nothing.
  • Returns reduce points. Points tied to returned items are deducted from the balance.
  • 72 hour hold. Points can't be redeemed until 72 hours after they are awarded.
  • Rewards can change. The terms let Moroccanoil change rewards, point prices, earning and tier rules, set limits and modify or restrict any aspect of the program, with or without notice. A member can withdraw at any time by emailing Client Care.
  • Cancelling forfeits points. All accrued points are lost if an account expires or is cancelled.

What stands out about Moroccanoil Rewards

Most perks are open to everyone. Seven of the eleven listed perks, including free shipping and returns, early access and birthday points, apply from the first day in Original. Icon adds welcome points and Gold adds three more. The tiers add recognition and a little extra, and the main reasons to join don't depend on climbing them.

Products are priced at one rate. Every product in the Rewards Boutique costs the same share of its list price, so a member never has to ask which product gives the best value. The dollar rewards are slightly worse, which nudges members towards products, and the minimum purchase on each one ties the reward to a bigger basket.

Most action points go to channels. Of the 125 points available from one-time actions, 85 reward following the brand on Instagram and TikTok, signing up for texts and emails, subscribing to Auto-Replenish and taking the Hair Quiz. The other 40 go to creating the account and writing a review. That weights the program towards growing owned channels and capturing data, as well as repeat purchases.

The free-shipping threshold is low. Non-members already get free shipping from $50, so the shipping perk matters mainly for small orders, and the free returns matter more.

What members should know going in:

  • Tier rules are unpublished. Moroccanoil doesn't say how long a tier lasts, whether it uses points earned or the points balance, or what happens to a member who spends points.
  • Several amounts aren't published. Birthday points, new tier welcome points, the Gold bonus points, and the goal spend and punch card conditions have no stated amounts or periods.
  • The line-up changes. Rewards Boutique products and prices in points change during the year.

Is Moroccanoil Rewards worth joining?

If you buy Moroccanoil products from moroccanoil.com, yes: it is free, it earns points from the first order, and free shipping and returns apply immediately. An occasional shopper gets free shipping on small orders, free returns and the 20 sign-up points, and should remember that points lapse after 12 months of inactivity. A regular shopper earns about 8% back in product value (our arithmetic), so a $30 bottle costs 375 points, which is about $375 of spending at 1 point per $1, and the extra tier perks arrive at Icon and Gold. Someone who mostly buys Moroccanoil in a salon or from another retailer gains nothing on those purchases, because only online orders on the US site earn.

What Shopify brands can learn from Moroccanoil's program

Moroccanoil Rewards is simple to explain, and several of its mechanics carry over to a Shopify brand:

  1. Price every reward at one rate. A point is worth about 8 cents wherever it is spent, so members don't have to compare options. Decide the value of a point first, then price each reward from it. In Mage you set the points cost, discount amount and minimum purchase on each fixed-amount reward, and flexible rewards let customers slide points against a value range.
  2. Reward the actions you want, then say how many points they are worth. Moroccanoil pays for follows, SMS and email sign-ups, a quiz, a review and subscribing to replenishment. Mage supports earning actions for account creation, social follows, reviews (with more for photo or video), SMS opt-in and subscription milestones.
  3. Open the best benefit to everyone. Free shipping and returns for all members is a reason to create an account, with the tiers on top. In Mage, free shipping is a supported reward type, and VIP tiers can carry multipliers, tier-specific rewards, early access and upgraded shipping.
  4. Tie rewards to basket size. A $10 reward that needs an $80 order lifts order value. Mage rewards have a minimum purchase setting, and a Tiered bonus points campaign can add a flat bonus at spend thresholds.

If you're building a points and tiers loyalty program on Shopify, Mage covers the structure above: points with fixed-amount rewards, VIP tiers on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, referral rewards with minimum spend, punch cards, birthday and signup bonuses, and configurable points expiry.

Frequently asked questions

Do Moroccanoil Rewards points expire? Yes. Points expire after 12 months of inactivity, meaning a member neither earns nor redeems points in that time. The terms also allow Moroccanoil to expire a whole account after a year of inactivity, which forfeits the remaining points.

How many points do I need for $10 off at Moroccanoil? 125 points, on a purchase of $80 or more. $15 off costs 200 points on $100 or more, and $20 off costs 275 points on $120 or more.

Is Moroccanoil free shipping only for Rewards members? No. Members get free shipping on every order, and non-members get it on orders of $50 or more. Alaska and Hawaii are excluded from both offers and carry a $35 flat rate. Free returns within the continental US are a member-only benefit.

What happened to Beauty Circle? Moroccanoil says Beauty Circle was reimagined as Moroccanoil Rewards, with the same basic structure and more benefits and ways to earn points. Points and status from Beauty Circle transferred to Rewards when the member activated a new account.

Can I earn points buying Moroccanoil at a salon or another retailer? No. Points are earned only on purchases made on the US Moroccanoil website while signed in to a Rewards account.

How do I earn points for a review? Wait for the Rate and Review email that arrives about two to three weeks after an order, and post the review through it. That earns 20 points, up to 10 verified reviews and 200 points a year. Reviews posted directly on the website earn nothing.

Does Moroccanoil Rewards work outside the US? No. The program is available to customers in the United States only.

Points expiry looks straightforward on paper. Set a date, points disappear, liability shrinks. But here's what most Shopify merchants miss: a poorly designed expiry policy doesn't just reduce financial burden—it actively damages customer relationships and tanks retention rates.
