Dr. Squatch Rewards is the free points program of Dr. Squatch, the natural soap and personal care brand. Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent, plus bonuses for joining and for a birthday, and redeem points at checkout for money off: 50 points take $5 off an order of $15 or more, up to 300 points for $30 off an order of $90 or more. Three tiers, Squatch Man, Squatch Legend and Squatch Champion, start at $20, $75 and $150 of spend, and the top tier earns double points. Points expire after six months of inactivity.

How to join Dr. Squatch Rewards
Joining means creating a Dr. Squatch account: Join Now on the Rewards page, and the account starts earning points. There is no fee or separate enrolment. Points and your Rewards History are visible only when you are logged in, in a balance box at the top of the Rewards page. The Terms of Use limit the program to US residents aged 18 or over with one account each, and say points can be earned without an account but only redeemed when logged in. Points are promotional only: they have no cash value and can't be transferred.
The sign-up bonus is 30 points, worth $3. Dr. Squatch also runs sign-up offers on its site from time to time, which change often, so check the current one on the site.
How you earn points
| Action | Points | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Sign up for Rewards | 30 | On account creation |
| Spend | 1 per $1 | 2 per $1 at Squatch Champion |
| Celebrate a birthday | 70 | Birthday must be saved on the account |
| First subscription renewal | 15 | |
| First subscription of each product type | 15 | Terms only: per category, such as bar soap or deodorant, and not again if a member cancels and re-subscribes |
| Refer a friend | 100 | Terms only: when the friend makes a first purchase of $25 or more, once per referred customer. The friend gets $10 off an order of $25 or more |
| Make 3 purchases | 30 | |
| Make 4 purchases | 60 | |
| Follow the Doctor on Instagram | 15 | |
| Share Squatch on Facebook | 20 | |
| Read about Squatch | 10 |
The terms round purchases down to the nearest whole point, so $1.95 earns 1 point. Dr. Squatch doesn't say whether the purchase milestones are one-time or when their counting period starts, whether the social actions can be repeated, or whether the birthday reward comes every year. It also doesn't say whether shipping, tax or discounted amounts count toward the 1 point per $1, or whether purchases at retail stockists earn.
The birthday bonus has one timing rule: a member who enters their birthday less than 30 days before it will receive the points about 30 days after entering it, which Dr. Squatch says is fraud protection. Otherwise the gift arrives on the birthday.
What Dr. Squatch points are worth
Every point is worth $0.10 when redeemed. The table runs from 50 points for $5 off to 300 points for $30 off, and the value per point is the same at every step (our arithmetic).
| Points | Discount | Minimum order |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | $5 off | $15 |
| 100 | $10 off | $30 |
| 150 | $15 off | $45 |
| 200 | $20 off | $60 |
| 250 | $25 off | $75 |
| 300 | $30 off | $90 |
At 1 point per $1, a member returns 10% of their spending in points (our arithmetic): $50 of spending earns the first $5 reward, and $300 earns the largest one. At Squatch Champion, with 2 points per $1, the return is 20%: $25 of spending earns the first reward. The minimum order is three times the discount at every step, so the redemption never takes more than a third off an order at its minimum.
The sign-up bonus is worth $3 and a birthday is worth $7. A new member who spends $20, enough to reach Squatch Man, would hold 50 points with the sign-up bonus, which is a $5 reward on a later order of $15 or more.
How to redeem points
Points are redeemed at checkout only. In the checkout, a member opens the Select Discount control, picks the discount, and applies the points. Points can be used when starting a new subscription but not on subscription renewals, and they are for online purchases at drsquatch.com.
How points combine with other offers, according to the help center (updated 21 July 2026):
- Gift with Purchase offers can't be combined with other offers but can be used with Rewards points.
- Sitewide percentage-off offers can't be combined with anything, including points.
- When a promotion explicitly says so, for example designated seasonal pre-sale promotions, points can be combined with it.
- Discounts don't apply to shipping fees or sales tax, and minimum spend requirements may apply.
- Dr. Squatch can change or end offers at any time.
Squatch VIP Society: tiers and perks
| Squatch Man | Squatch Legend | Squatch Champion | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spend | $20 | $75 | $150 |
| Points per $1 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Birthday reward | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Points opportunities | None listed | "2x" | "3x" |
| Early access to new products | No | Yes | Yes |
The tier ladder starts low: $20 reaches Squatch Man, and $150 reaches the top. The perk that changes the economics is the earn rate: Squatch Champion doubles points per $1, which lifts the return from 10% to 20% (our arithmetic). Squatch Legend and Squatch Champion add early access to new products and the "2x" and "3x points opportunities".
The help center says tiers need a minimum spend per rolling year, and that the year begins twelve months after a tier is earned. To keep a tier a member has to spend the required amount within that period. Dr. Squatch doesn't publish how long a member has to reach the threshold in the first place, what tier a member drops to if the spend isn't met, or what the "2x" and "3x points opportunities" are.
The fine print
- Points expire after six months of inactivity. The Terms of Use define inactivity as six months without a qualifying purchase, referral or redemption, and newsletter subscribers are notified two weeks before points expire.
- Refunds remove points. Points earned on a refunded or returned purchase are taken off the balance, and the terms say the points themselves are not refundable.
- Subscription renewals can't use points. Points work on a new subscription and on one-time orders.
- Sitewide percentage-off sales exclude points. Gift with Purchase offers and some pre-sales are the exceptions.
- Redemption is online. The help center describes points as discounts on future online purchases.
- Dr. Squatch can change offers at any time. The help center says Dr. Squatch reserves the right to modify or end offers.
- Points are promotional. They have no cash value, can't be transferred and can't be redeemed for cash, and each redemption is final.
- Dr. Squatch can end the program. The terms let it change rewards, earning rules and time limits at any time, and if the program ends, unused points expire on the end date.
- One account per person. Dr. Squatch can close accounts, and cancel participation, for duplicates or unauthorized use.
How subscriptions fit in
Subscribing is a separate saving from points. The subscription page offers Subscribe & Save 15% with free shipping, and members can pause, edit or cancel any time. The help center's subscription article adds free delivery, a shipment every three months and early access to new products and limited editions.
The two programs touch in three places: the first subscription renewal earns 15 points, points can be applied when a subscription starts, and points can't be used on renewals. Whether renewal orders earn 1 point per $1 isn't published.
What stands out about Dr. Squatch Rewards
The exchange rate is simple and generous. One point is ten cents, and a point is earned per dollar, so the headline return is 10%. Many programs make shoppers divide a number to find the value. Here the value comes from the table in one glance, and the largest reward, $30, needs a $90 order, which keeps the discount at a third of the cart.
The top tier is about earning, not extras. Squatch Champion's difference is 2 points per $1, which means $150 of spending moves a member to 20% back in points. Nothing else in the tier table is as concrete.
Expiry is tied to activity, not to dates. Points expire after six months of inactivity. Under the Terms of Use, a purchase, a referral or a redemption counts as activity. Dr. Squatch doesn't say whether the cheap actions, such as reading about Squatch (10 points) or sharing on Facebook (20), can be repeated.
Points sit beside a subscription that does most of the discounting. The subscription page offers 15%, and points can't pay for renewals, so the subscriber's points go toward one-time add-ons and new subscriptions.
What members should know going in:
- The tier window isn't published. The help center says "rolling year", and the Rewards page doesn't say when it starts.
- "2x" and "3x points opportunities" aren't defined. Members can't tell what triggers them.
- Percentage-off sales exclude points. A member waiting for a sitewide sale can't stack points on it.
- Dr. Squatch doesn't publish a member count or a launch date for the program.
Is Dr. Squatch Rewards worth joining?
Yes, for anyone who buys from drsquatch.com: it's free, the sign-up bonus is worth $3, and the base rate is 10% back in points. A one-off buyer who spends $20 holds 50 points with the sign-up bonus, enough for a $5 reward, and should use it within six months. A regular customer reaches Squatch Legend at $75 and Squatch Champion at $150, and at Champion the 20% return is hard to ignore, though the rolling-year rule means keeping up the spending. Subscribers get their main saving from the subscription and can redeem points on one-time orders and add-ons, not on renewals. Shoppers who buy mainly from stockists or during sitewide sales will get little from the program.
What Shopify brands can learn from Dr. Squatch Rewards
Several mechanics in this program carry over to a Shopify brand:
- Make a point worth a round number. 50 points for $5, 100 for $10, and so on, with a minimum order three times the discount. Shoppers read the table in one glance, and the minimum keeps each discount to a third of the cart. In Mage, a fixed amount reward has a points cost, a discount amount and a minimum purchase, and rewards apply at Shopify checkout with no code to copy.
- Keep the first tier almost free to reach. A $20 threshold makes nearly every customer feel they have status from the first order, and the top tier can then be a clear earning upgrade. In Mage, VIP tiers can be entered by amount spent, points earned or number of orders, progress can run on a rolling year, and tiers can carry points multipliers such as 1.5x, 2x or 3x and early access to launches.
- Pay small points for small actions. Sign-up, a birthday, a social follow or share and a purchase milestone give a member reasons to come back between orders. Mage has sign-up and birthday bonuses, social follow and share rules, and on higher plans punch cards that pay a bonus after, for example, 2 orders in 30 days or 3 orders over $100.
- Expire on inactivity, not on a calendar. Dr. Squatch's six-month rule keeps active customers' points. In Mage, points expiry is off by default and can run either a set number of days after points are earned or from the customer's last purchase date, with a reminder before points drop off if email is set up.
If you're building a points and tiers loyalty program on Shopify, Mage covers the structure above: points with fixed-amount rewards and minimum purchases, VIP tiers on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, tier multipliers, birthday and sign-up bonuses, punch cards and configurable points expiry.
