Club BERO is BERO's loyalty program: a free membership that pays store credit on every pack and merch purchase, plus a paid tier called BEROMASTER, $55 a year, that doubles the credit and adds 10% off every purchase and free shipping on every order. Members earn credits on online orders and on beer bought in a store, by scanning the QR code inside the pack, and spend them on berobrewing.com. Credits expire 12 months after they are earned.

Last checked on 4 November 2026 against BERO's Club BERO page, FAQs and Shipping & Returns page, for the US in US dollars.

This guide is written by Graeme, co-founder of Mage, a loyalty and customer accounts platform for Shopify.

Club BERO has two membership levels and no spending tiers: a member is either free or paid, and nothing is unlocked by how much they spend.

How to join Club BERO

There are two ways in. A free membership needs only a name, email address and postal address, and it never expires. BEROMASTER is the paid tier, $55 a year. Both start from the Club BERO page.

The free tier is a real program rather than a teaser: free members earn credits on every purchase and ship free on orders over $50. Non-members pay for shipping under $65.

Club BERO is not a subscription. Members do not commit to buying on a schedule, and BERO runs a separate Subscribe & Save option for recurring beer orders.

How you earn credits

ActionFree MemberBEROMASTERConditions
Buy a 6-pack or Variety Pack$0.25 per 6-pack$0.50 per 6-packOnline or in a store
Buy BERO merch$1 per $30$2 per $30Online only
Referrals, reviews, social follows and moreYesYesAmounts are listed in the member dashboard

Online orders earn automatically, and credits appear in the account immediately. BERO does not spell out how larger packs convert, so a 12-pack or a 24-pack is not described as a multiple of the 6-pack rate.

Credits from stores. Every 6-pack and Variety Pack carries a unique QR code. After buying in a store, a member scans the code, or types it in on BERO's claim page, and signs in to a Club BERO account. A free account is enough. If the code has not already been claimed, the credits are added straight away. This is how a purchase at a retailer ends up in the member's balance, and each code can only be claimed once.

Get rewarded for every purchase: earn rewards on every BERO purchase including 6-packs, variety packs and merch, scan and claim the QR code on each pack after an in-store purchase, and redeem credits instantly

If an order is cancelled or fully refunded, the credits it earned are taken off the account. After a partial refund, only the matching share of credits is deducted. Beer cannot be returned, and merch can be returned within 30 days.

What a Club BERO credit is worth

A credit is a dollar. Members enter an amount of credit to redeem and get a discount code for exactly that amount, so $1 of credit is $1 off. That makes the rate easy to read, and it makes BERO's per-pack figures easy to turn into percentages.

BERO's core 6-pack of beer lists at $14 (the Kingston Golden Pils 6-pack, as of 4 November 2026).

PurchaseCreditReturn (our arithmetic)
6-pack at $14, Free Member$0.25About 1.8%
6-pack at $14, BEROMASTER$0.50About 3.6%
Merch, Free Member$1 per $30About 3.3%
Merch, BEROMASTER$2 per $30About 6.7%

Credits on beer are a small return. The larger part of BEROMASTER's value is the 10% off every purchase and free shipping, not the doubled credits. On a $14 6-pack, a BEROMASTER saves $1.40 and earns $0.25 more credit than a free member, so $1.65 more per pack (our arithmetic, assuming the 10% applies to the $14 price and ignoring shipping).

Merch earns nearly twice the percentage that beer does, though it can only be bought online.

How to redeem credits

Redeeming is a four-step process in the account dashboard. A member logs in, clicks "redeem credits", enters how much of the balance to use, and receives a unique discount code for that amount, which can be applied to the cart automatically. Free members can redeem too, and credits are available straight after they are earned, so they can be used on the next order.

Credits are spent on berobrewing.com, on beer and merch. They cannot be redeemed in a store yet: BERO says it is working on ways to redeem credits wherever members shop and points members to its website and social channels for updates. A member who buys at a retailer therefore earns in the store and spends online.

BERO's 10% Subscribe & Save discount does not stack with the BEROMASTER discount. BEROMASTERS who also subscribe receive surprise gifts during the year.

Shipping follows the membership level. Non-members ship free over $65, free members over $50, and BEROMASTER members always. Orders under the threshold pay a $5 flat fee, with a $15 surcharge on top for Alaska and Hawaii.

The fine print

  • Credits expire. Each credit stays active for 12 months from the day it was earned. Members are told about expiry timelines in advance.
  • Credits survive cancelling. A member who stops BEROMASTER keeps the credits already earned, which still expire 12 months after they were earned.
  • Free membership does not lapse. The free tier is for life.
  • BEROMASTER renews automatically. The membership renews every year, can be cancelled any time in the account dashboard or by emailing support, and is non-refundable. Benefits stay active until the end of the billing period.
  • Refunds reverse credits. A cancelled or fully refunded order removes the credits it earned, and a partial refund removes the matching share.
  • Where it works. BERO ships to all US states except Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska and South Carolina, and does not ship to PO boxes. BERO says it is available in the US and UK. The Club BERO page does not name eligible countries.
  • Age rules. BERO's FAQs say the rules for buying non-alcoholic beer vary by state, with some states restricting it to people 21 and older, and some retailers ask for ID.

What stands out about Club BERO

It links retail purchases to an online account. Most of a beer brand's sales happen in stores, where the brand never learns who bought. A QR code inside the pack lets a shopper tell BERO about a purchase after the fact, and the credit is the reason to do it. The credit can only be spent online, so every in-store scan produces a known customer and a reason to visit berobrewing.com.

Free is a real tier. Free members earn credits and get a lower shipping threshold than non-members, so signing up is worth doing even if the shopper never pays.

The paid tier is mostly a discount. BEROMASTER doubles the credits, but the 10% discount and unconditional free shipping carry the value, plus access perks such as events, launches and member-only products. The two levels are easy to compare on one screen, which lowers the effort of deciding.

Credits are written in dollars. There is no points currency to convert, which makes the per-pack figures honest and easy to read, even if the amounts on beer are small.

What members should know going in:

  • In-store credits can't be spent in stores. Redemption is online only, so credits only pay off if you also order from berobrewing.com.
  • Credits expire after 12 months. A member who buys a few packs a year at a store may find credits lapse before they build up to a worthwhile balance.
  • BERO doesn't publish what referrals, reviews or social follows pay. The member dashboard lists those amounts; the public pages do not.
  • Larger packs are not explained. The rate is stated per 6-pack, and how a 12-pack, 18-pack or Variety Pack is counted is not published.

Is Club BERO worth joining?

Joining the free tier is an easy yes for anyone who buys BERO, online or in a store. It costs nothing, pays a $5 credit up front and lowers the free shipping threshold from $65 to $50, and scanning a pack's QR code takes seconds. An occasional shopper should mainly watch the 12 month expiry.

A regular online buyer is the person who should consider BEROMASTER. With 10% off, free shipping on every order and doubled credits, the fee is easiest to recover for someone who orders often and in small batches that would otherwise pay shipping. Someone who buys BERO only in stores gets little from the paid tier, because the shipping, discount and redemption perks all apply online. For that shopper, the free membership captures most of the value.

What Shopify brands can learn from BERO's program

BERO has built a membership for a product sold mostly through other retailers, and several of its choices translate to a Shopify brand.

  1. Give retail buyers a way to identify themselves. A code in the pack, claimed after purchase, turns an anonymous shelf sale into a customer record. A brand that sells through stockists can offer a reward for a claimed code, a submitted receipt or a scan. In Mage, AI receipt scanning on Growth and above lets customers submit a receipt from a stockist or a pop-up and earn points, with built-in fraud detection.
  2. Make the free tier worth joining. A lower shipping threshold and credits on every order give everyone a reason to sign up. In Mage, sign-up bonuses, birthday bonuses and review and social rewards can be switched on as earning rules.
  3. Use a paid tier to multiply the earn rate and discount. BEROMASTER doubles credits and adds 10% off, so the rate is easy to explain. Mage's Memberships feature, an Enterprise module, supports recurring billing monthly, quarterly or annual, a separate price for each tier, a per-tier points multiplier, members-only cashback, free shipping and member-only codes, and it does not require Shopify Plus. Pricing is available from the sales team.
  4. Pay in a currency shoppers understand. A balance in dollars needs no explaining. Mage's loyalty program can run in points or in store credit, and its store credit mode is available on Growth and Enterprise.

If you're setting up a paid membership program on Shopify, Mage covers the structure above: tiers with their own price and billing cycle, perks that can be switched on independently, a per-tier points multiplier, and self-service from the customer's account to view perks, update payment details, switch billing cycle or cancel.

Frequently asked questions

Is Club BERO free? Yes. The free membership costs nothing and does not expire. BEROMASTER, the paid tier, costs $55 a year and renews automatically.

How much is a Club BERO credit worth? One dollar. Members enter an amount of credit and get a discount code for exactly that amount. Credits are earned at $0.25 per 6-pack for free members and $0.50 for BEROMASTER members.

Do Club BERO credits expire? Yes. Each credit stays active for 12 months from the day it was earned, and credits already earned stay usable if a member cancels BEROMASTER.

How do I get credits for BERO bought in a store? Join Club BERO, free or paid, then scan the QR code inside a 6-pack or Variety Pack, or type the code in on BERO's claim page. The credits are added when the code has not been claimed before. They can be spent on berobrewing.com, not in a store.

Is BEROMASTER worth $55? It depends on how much you order online. A member who orders often online gets the most from the 10% discount, free shipping and doubled credits. A member who orders rarely mainly gets event, launch and member-only access.

Can I use the BEROMASTER discount with Subscribe & Save? No. The 10% subscription discount does not stack with the BEROMASTER discount, though BEROMASTERS who also subscribe get surprise gifts during the year.
