Chick-fil-A One is Chick-fil-A's free rewards program for US customers. Members earn 10 points for every $1 spent on qualifying orders (11, 12 and 13 at Silver, Red and Signature), trade points for food rewards that start at 200 points, and move through four tiers, Chick-fil-A One member, Silver, Red and Signature, at 1,000, 4,000 and 10,000 points a year. Points don't expire, but the rewards you redeem do, and tier progress resets every January 1.

How to join Chick-fil-A One
Create an account in the Chick-fil-A App or at chick-fil-a.com/one, either with an email address or by signing in with Google. A code sent by text verifies your phone number, which you have to do before you receive points or benefits, and a welcome email verifies your email address.
Each account belongs to one individual. Businesses, groups and aggregators can't register or earn points, and duplicate accounts can be deleted. Everyone starts at the Chick-fil-A One member tier.
How you earn Chick-fil-A One points
Members earn 10 points for every dollar spent on a qualifying order, and more at higher tiers (see below). Points are credited when you:
- place a mobile order in the Chick-fil-A App, or order online while signed in
- scan your Chick-fil-A One QR code at the counter or in the drive-thru
- submit a missed transaction from a receipt within 30 days of the purchase
You can pay however you like, including cash. Points are credited when the transaction completes but can take 24 hours or more to appear.
Delivery is the part that trips people up. Orders placed through DoorDash from the Deliver to me option inside the Chick-fil-A App earn points. Orders started in DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats or any other third-party app don't earn points or count towards your tier.
Some spending doesn't earn:
- Chick-fil-A gift cards and e-gift cards (spending a gift card on food does earn)
- Anything bought with points, rewards or other promotional offers
- Delivery fees, small order fees, surcharges, tips and taxes
- Catering orders placed as a guest while signed out
- Purchases at Chick-fil-A Express and licensed locations
Select restaurants also run bonus point promotions and challenges.
The rate rises with your tier: 10 points per $1 as a member, 11 at Silver, 12 at Red and 13 at Signature.
What Chick-fil-A One points are worth
Chick-fil-A doesn't publish a dollar value for a point. At the base rate of 10 points per $1, every 100 points represents $10 of spending, and the four rewards on the page work out like this (our arithmetic):
| Reward | Points | Spending needed |
|---|---|---|
| Icedream cone | 200 | $20 |
| Medium Waffle Potato Fries | 400 | $40 |
| 2 ct Chick-n-Strips | 600 | $60 |
| 12 ct Nuggets | 1,200 | $120 |
The return on a reward is its menu price divided by the spending it takes to earn it. A reward with a $6 menu price that costs 1,200 points returns 5% (6 ÷ 120). Menu prices vary by restaurant and aren't listed next to the rewards, so the exact return depends on where you order. Higher tiers stretch a point further: at 13 points per $1, a Signature member needs about $92 of spending for 1,200 points.
Which Chick-fil-A One reward is the best value?
Chick-fil-A doesn't rank them, and its FAQ says there is no wrong way to use points. The published numbers point to a few rules:
- Compare menu price to points. Divide the price at your restaurant by the points. The highest price per point is the best use of a balance.
- Climb the tiers. The same dollar earns 30% more points at Signature (13) than as a member (10), which makes every reward cheaper in spending.
- The cone is the entry point. The first redemption needs at least 200 available points, about $20 of spending.
- Each reward is one specific item. You can't swap it for another item, though you can add a special request such as extra pickles.
- Tier perks can beat the menu. A Signature member's birthday reward is any entrée, where a Chick-fil-A One member picks a cookie or brownie.
How to redeem Chick-fil-A One rewards
In the app, choose Rewards, pick an item and select Redeem points for this reward. The reward lands in My Rewards, and selecting Redeem reward adds it to your order as free. No other purchase is needed. At the restaurant, order the item and scan your QR code at the register or in the drive-thru. Rewards redeem at participating restaurants only.
A few details:
- Add it as an individual item. Order the reward item on its own rather than as part of a meal.
- Matching rewards redeem automatically, with the one closest to expiring used first. In the app you can switch the redeem toggle off. At the register you have to remove the item or ask for your membership ID to be taken off the transaction.
- Redeemed and expired rewards can't be reloaded.
- Reversing points: the FAQ says you can select Reverse points on a reward that isn't part of an active order. The terms say points are restored only if a reward is unavailable.
Do Chick-fil-A One points expire?
No. Chick-fil-A One points don't expire. Rewards do: each has its own expiration date, shown under My Rewards in the app or your online account, and an expired reward can't be added back.
Three things can still cost you:
- Inactivity. Chick-fil-A can cancel an account with no purchase or points-earning activity for 24 months, which cancels all points, rewards and tier progress. The FAQ says you can create a new account.
- Tier progress. Points toward your tier reset to zero on January 1, while your spendable balance stays.
- The program changing or ending. The terms let Chick-fil-A change or end the program, including expiry rules.
When you redeem, the oldest points are used first.
Chick-fil-A One tiers and benefits
The tier you hold depends on the points you earn in a calendar year. Counting the higher rates as you climb, the thresholds equal roughly $100, $370 and $870 of qualifying spending in a year (our arithmetic, lower if bonus points apply).
| Tier | Starts at | Points per $1 | Benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chick-fil-A One member | On joining | 10 | Points on every qualifying order, rewards, rewards from your local restaurant, first to know about new menu items, saved favorites |
| Silver | 1,000 points | 11 | Member benefits plus gifting rewards to family and friends |
| Red | 4,000 points | 12 | Silver benefits plus a free Backstage Tour for you and up to 5 guests at the Chick-fil-A Home Office |
| Signature | 10,000 points | 13 | Red benefits plus rewards exclusive to Signature members, Signature Surprises (curated gifts and experiences in limited quantities) and invitations to give input and vote |
How status is kept. Reach a tier and you keep it for the rest of that year and the whole of the next, according to the terms. After that you need to reach it again, because each member has until December 31 to reach or maintain a tier and points toward status don't roll over. You can see your status under Rewards, then My Status, in the app.
Gifting. Silver, Red and Signature members can gift a reward they redeemed with points. The app creates a one-time link, the points are taken when it's created, and the reward stays in your account until someone claims it or 30 days pass. Gifts can't be reversed and don't count towards the recipient's tier. Members can also redeem points for a food reward to donate to an organization by contacting their local restaurant, and the Owner-Operator decides whether to accept.
Chick-fil-A One birthday rewards
Every tier gets a birthday reward, and it grows with status:
| Tier | Birthday reward |
|---|---|
| Chick-fil-A One member | Chocolate Chunk Cookie or Chocolate Fudge Brownie |
| Silver | A dessert of your choice: cookie, brownie, small milkshake, small Frosted Lemonade, small Frosted Coffee, small Icedream cone or cup |
| Red | A grilled or regular sandwich, or 8 ct or 12 ct Nuggets |
| Signature | Your choice of entrée |
The reward arrives on your birthday (the day before if it falls on a Sunday) and is valid for 30 days. You have to add your birthday at least 24 hours ahead, and you can't edit it afterwards.
The fine print
- The program is for US residents. Points can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for cash.
- Chick-fil-A can change the points, rewards, tiers and expiry dates, or end the program, at any time.
- Disputes go to binding arbitration with a class action waiver.
What stands out about Chick-fil-A One
Two clocks, one forgiving and one strict. Points never expire, so a member who goes quiet for a year still has a balance. Status is what resets every January 1, so keeping Red or Signature takes repeat visits.
Status pays in points and in access. Each tier adds one point per dollar, so Signature earns 30% faster than a new member, and the other perks are gifting, a tour, surprises and a bigger birthday reward. The climb makes food cheaper and adds things money can't buy.
A national program with a local lever. Members can receive rewards, invitations and promotions from their own restaurant's Owner-Operator, so a franchise can reward its regulars while the national program handles points and tiers.
What members should know going in:
- The headline rate is the lowest one. The page leads with 10 points per $1, and the 11, 12 and 13 rates appear only on the tier tabs.
- Pages disagree on age. The terms say 13 and over and the FAQ says 18 and over. The FAQ also mentions a March 2026 terms update, while the Chick-fil-A One terms are dated June 2023.
- Most rewards are inside the app. The page shows four examples, and the full list and expiry dates are in the app.
- Delivery has a catch. Only DoorDash orders placed inside the Chick-fil-A App earn points.
Is Chick-fil-A One worth joining?
If you eat at Chick-fil-A at all, yes. It's free, points never expire, and the first reward takes about $20 of spending. Silver takes about $100 of spending a year and unlocks gifting, Red about $370 and Signature about $870, where the entrée birthday reward and Signature Surprises sit. If you mostly order through third-party delivery apps, or from an airport or campus location, you won't earn points there, so order through the Chick-fil-A App instead.
What Shopify brands can learn from Chick-fil-A One
Chick-fil-A One is built for a purchase people repeat often, and several mechanics carry over to Shopify brands:
- Separate the balance from the status. Keep points available for a long time and let tier progress run on a calendar year. In Mage, points expiry is off by default, and VIP tier progress can run on a calendar year, a rolling year or lifetime, with status protected for twelve months after it's earned.
- Pay more per dollar as members climb. One extra point per tier is a simple, visible reason to keep going. Mage supports points multipliers by VIP tier, for example 1.5x, 2x or 3x.
- Scale the birthday gift by tier. A cookie for everyone and an entrée for the top tier gives each level a visible step. Mage supports tier-scaled birthday rewards.
- Give top tiers things money can't buy. Tours and surprises cost little and signal status. Mage supports custom perks such as priority support and exclusive products, plus early access to launches.
- Let a local team send its own rewards. In Mage, Points Drops add a one-time bonus to a Shopify customer segment or a VIP tier at a scheduled time, and the Shopify POS tile shows points, rewards and tier-specific rewards at the till.
If you're building a Shopify VIP tiers program like this, Mage covers the structure above: tiers on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, calendar-year or rolling progress, tier retention, tier multipliers, tier-scaled birthday rewards, custom perks and Points Drops.
