Gymshark Loyalty is Gymshark's free membership program for shoppers on its US store. Members earn XP (experience points) for shopping, signing up for emails and texts, downloading the app and attending Gymshark events, with 8 XP for every $1 spent. XP can't be spent. It only moves a member up four tiers, from Tier 1 at 0 XP to Tier 4 at 5,000 XP or more, and each tier above the first unlocks a one-off reward code of $10, $15 or $20 plus more perks. XP expire on a rolling basis 12 months after they are earned.
Last checked on 4 November 2026 against Gymshark's Gymshark Loyalty page on the US store, the Gymshark Loyalty Terms and Conditions (February 2026) and the Gymshark Loyalty help article (updated 23 September 2026), for the US in US dollars.

How to join Gymshark Loyalty
You join by logging in to an existing Gymshark account, or creating one, on the website or in the Gymshark app and clicking "Join the club". Joining is free and needs no purchase. Only one account is allowed per customer, and members have to be 18 or over, or take part with a parent or guardian involved. Everyone starts in Tier 1.
Gymshark announced the program in May 2025. Only orders placed after joining earn XP, so purchases made before you join don't count, whenever they were placed. A member can leave by choosing "opt out of Gymshark Loyalty" on the loyalty overview page of their account, and the terms say that leaving permanently erases the member's XP and rewards, which can't be recovered or transferred. XP and status also can't be moved to a new account, so a customer who signs up again with a different email starts at Tier 1.
How you earn XP
| Action | XP | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Shop | 8 per $1 | On the website and in the Gymshark app |
| Download the Gymshark shopping app | 50 | When you download the shopping app |
| Sign up for Gymshark emails | 25 | Added automatically if you already subscribe |
| Sign up for Gymshark texts | 25 | When you sign up for texts |
| Attend a free LIFT event | 100 | Free LIFT events |
A qualifying purchase excludes gift cards, taxes, fees and shipping charges, according to the terms. Redeeming a reward code doesn't earn XP. XP from a purchase normally appears in the member's account within 30 minutes and can take up to 24 hours.
Returns work in the member's favor on status. If you send an item back, the XP from that purchase is deducted, but if the order had pushed you up a tier, the deduction doesn't drop you back down, and you keep the tier's reward and benefits.
At launch, press coverage said members also earned XP for completing training programs in the Gymshark Training app (The Industry, 20 May 2025). Gymshark's help article now says XP can no longer be earned by downloading the Training app or tracking workouts, so shopping is the main way to build XP, with events and sign-ups as small extras.
What Gymshark XP are worth
Gymshark doesn't state a dollar value for XP, and the help article says XP can't be redeemed against any monetary value. There is no exchange rate and no balance to spend, so there is no cash-back percentage to work out. What XP buy is status: crossing a tier threshold unlocks a reward code and a bigger set of perks, and the program's only fixed dollar amounts are the $10, $15 and $20 reward codes at Tiers 2, 3 and 4.
Gymshark Loyalty tiers and perks
| Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XP range | 0 to 1,249 | 1,250 to 2,999 | 3,000 to 4,999 | 5,000+ |
| Reward on reaching the tier | None (starting tier) | $10 | $15 | $20 |
| Birthday reward, anniversary reward, exclusive offers, early access | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Partnership discounts and priority access | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Exclusive access | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Annual member reward | No | No | No | Yes |
Each tier includes everything below it. Gymshark doesn't publish what the birthday, anniversary and annual member rewards are.
Partner offers. The partnership discounts are listed on the program page under "Meet our loyalty perks" and reached in the Gymshark app. As of 4 November 2026, Tier 2 and above get a free month of ClassPass, a Garmin discount (10% off at Tier 2 and 20% off at Tier 3, as a single-use code) and a Planet Fitness joining offer for US members. Partner offers are the part of the program most likely to change, so check the page for the current list.
Keeping a tier. Status follows XP, and XP expire. Members have to keep their XP at the tier's threshold to stay in the tier, and the terms say that failing to earn the qualifying XP after 12 months lowers the tier. The help article describes the same rule: once you reach a tier it is yours for 12 months, and if you haven't earned enough XP by then you move down one tier, with the chance to climb back.
How tier rewards work
XP aren't redeemed. What members redeem are the tier reward codes, and they work like this:
- Reaching Tier 2, 3 or 4 issues a unique, single-use discount code worth $10, $15 or $20, found under "Rewards" in the account or in Gymshark's marketing emails.
- The code has to be used within 90 days of being issued, or it expires from the account.
- Codes work on online purchases only, and only one discount code can be applied per order.
- Cancelling an order or returning it in full doesn't re-credit the code automatically. A member has to ask customer support, which can issue a replacement, but an expired code can't be replaced.
Members find their XP balance, current tier, a breakdown of how the XP were earned, progress to the next tier and available rewards in their profile, on the website or in the app.
The fine print
- XP expire on a rolling basis. Each XP expires 12 months after it was awarded. Gymshark's own example: 25 XP earned on 12 January 2026 expire on 12 January 2027.
- Terms can change at any time. The terms let Gymshark modify earn rates, tier thresholds, reward values and benefits at its sole discretion, without prior notice, with changes effective as soon as they are posted.
- Pop-up stores and third-party retailers don't take part. The terms say a Gymshark account can't be used in pop-up or temporary retail stores, or at department stores and retail stores run by third parties.
- Rewards are online only. Reward codes and other discounts and offers from the program are redeemed online.
- Memberships can be suspended or ended. Gymshark can end a membership for improper use or fraud, and can modify, suspend or discontinue the program without notice.
- Regions differ. Earn rates and reward amounts are set per market, and this guide covers the US store in US dollars.
What stands out about Gymshark Loyalty
A status currency you can't spend. Most points programs ask a member to choose between spending points and keeping them. Gymshark takes that choice away: XP only ever build status, so a member never sees a balance shrink when they claim something. The cost to Gymshark is the occasional $10, $15 or $20 reward code and the partner perks, not a standing percentage of every order, which suits a brand that sells on identity and community more than on discounts.
Perks are access, not discounts. Early access, priority access, exclusive access and an annual member reward are the language of the tiers, and the partner offers (ClassPass, Garmin, Planet Fitness) are discounts on other brands' products and services, which suit a fitness audience and don't cut into Gymshark's own margins. For a member who cares about getting products first, that is worth more than the small codes.
Status is a moving 12-month window. Both XP and tier status run on a rolling 12 months, not a calendar year. A member's tier depends on steady activity, with no single date to plan around: a strong spending burst earns a tier, and an older burst drops out of the window as its XP expire.
Earning has narrowed to shopping. The program launched with XP for workouts in the Training app, and the help article now says that has gone. The ways to earn that remain on the program page are shopping, sign-ups and events, and with one-off earns of 25 to 100 XP against tier thresholds of 1,250 XP and up, spending is the main route up the tiers.
What members should know going in:
- XP have no cash value. The only dollar amounts are the one-off tier reward codes, and they arrive when a tier is reached, not as XP are earned.
- Codes are short-lived. A reward code lasts 90 days and can't be replaced once it expires, so use it soon after a tier is reached.
- Gymshark doesn't publish some details. It doesn't say what the birthday, anniversary and annual member rewards are, and it doesn't give member numbers or how many members sit in each tier.
Is Gymshark Loyalty worth joining?
It costs nothing, so a Gymshark shopper loses little by joining, as long as they remember that orders placed before joining never earn XP. Join before your next order rather than after it.
- An occasional buyer gets early access and exclusive offers at Tier 1, and the email, text and app sign-ups add small amounts of XP. Reaching Tier 2 is the goal that matters, because it brings the first reward code and the partner perks.
- A regular buyer who reaches Tier 2 gets $10, a free month of ClassPass, a Garmin discount and priority access. Keep an eye on the 12-month window, as older XP drop out and can take the tier with them.
- A heavy buyer at Tier 3 and Tier 4 collects exclusive access, a $15 and a $20 reward code and, at the top, an annual member reward whose contents Gymshark hasn't published.
What Shopify brands can learn from Gymshark Loyalty
Gymshark Loyalty is built for a community brand, and four of its mechanics carry over to a Shopify store:
- Separate status from spending. XP count toward tier but can't be spent, so members work toward status and never trade it away. In Mage, VIP tier progress can be based on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, and can run on a lifetime, calendar year or rolling year window, so a status-first program is a setting rather than a rebuild.
- Pay once at the milestone. A single $10, $15 or $20 code when a member reaches a tier is cheaper than a percentage on every order and still feels like a win. Mage supports tier entry rewards and tier-specific rewards for the same pattern.
- Fill the upper tiers with access. Early access to launches, sales and limited drops, and custom perks such as priority support or exclusive products, cost little and signal rank. Mage VIP perks include early access and custom perks.
- Mark the moments that matter. A birthday reward and an anniversary reward sit in Tier 1 and give every member a reason to come back once a year. Mage has Birthday Bonus and Anniversary Bonus earning rules, and birthday rewards can scale by tier. Points expiry can be set to a number of days after points are earned, which gives the same rolling effect Gymshark uses.
If you're building a points and tiers loyalty program on Shopify, Mage covers the structure above: points, VIP tiers on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, calendar-year or rolling-year tier progress, tier entry rewards, birthday and anniversary bonuses and configurable points expiry.

Frequently asked questions
Do Gymshark Loyalty XP expire? Yes. Each XP expires 12 months after it is awarded, on a rolling basis, so XP earned on 12 January 2026 expire on 12 January 2027.
How many XP do I need for each Gymshark Loyalty tier? Tier 1 is 0 to 1,249 XP, Tier 2 is 1,250 to 2,999, Tier 3 is 3,000 to 4,999 and Tier 4 is 5,000 or more. Everyone starts in Tier 1.
Can I redeem Gymshark XP for money or products? No. XP can't be spent or redeemed for monetary value. They count toward tier status, and each new tier from Tier 2 up issues a reward code of $10, $15 or $20.
Do I lose XP or my tier if I return an item? You lose the XP earned on the returned purchase, but if that order pushed you into a new tier, the deduction won't drop you back, and you keep the tier's rewards and benefits.
Do I need the Gymshark app to use Gymshark Loyalty? No. You can join and check your XP and tier on the website. The app earns a one-off 50 XP for downloading it, and the partner offers are reached there.
Do orders I placed before joining earn XP? No. Only purchases made after joining Gymshark Loyalty count toward XP, whenever the earlier order was placed.
