Hooked Rewards is ThirdLove's free rewards program for shoppers in the US. Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent, or 2 points once they reach Platinum by spending $250 in a calendar year, and every 100 points becomes a $5 discount code at checkout, which makes the base return 5% at Gold and 10% at Platinum. Gold gets free shipping from $75 and a $15 birthday gift, while Platinum adds free shipping on every order, a quarterly free pair of underwear, members-only sales and a VIP stylist. Points expire 12 months after they are issued.

Last checked on 28 October 2026 against ThirdLove's Rewards page and Hooked Loyalty Program Terms & Conditions (no "last updated" date shown), plus ThirdLove's blog guide, Everything You Need to Know About Hooked Rewards (2 October 2024), for the US in US dollars.

This guide is written by Graeme, co-founder of Mage, a loyalty and customer accounts platform for Shopify.

How to join Hooked Rewards

There is nothing to buy. Anyone who already had a ThirdLove account was enrolled automatically and can log in to see their status. A new customer creates an account at thirdlove.com with a name, email address and password, and joins Hooked Rewards by doing so. New sign-ups are also subscribed to ThirdLove's marketing emails, so the account is the whole sign-up and the email opt-in comes with it.

The program is for people who are 18 or older and live in the 50 US states or Washington, DC. ThirdLove judges residency by the shipping address on the account, and a member who moves to an address outside the US can no longer earn or redeem points. A person can hold one account, and the program is for personal use, not resale. ThirdLove's Canadian store doesn't run Hooked Rewards.

Joining pays right away: 100 points for creating an account, which the terms value at a $5 reward.

The birthday reward is a discount, not points. The terms don't say whether points are calculated on the price after discounts or how cents round into points, and points and spend from a returned order are removed.

What Hooked Rewards points are worth

ThirdLove publishes the exchange rate: 100 points equal a $5 credit, at both tiers. A point is worth $0.05, so the base earn of 1 point per $1 returns 5%, and Platinum's 2 points per $1 returns 10% (our arithmetic). The Platinum threshold of $250 a year is three to four of the bras below.

On ThirdLove's list prices on 28 October 2026, a purchase earns:

ItemList priceGold points (value)Platinum points (value)
24/7 Classic Wireless Bralette$4848 ($2.40)96 ($4.80)
24/7 Classic Wireless Bra$6868 ($3.40)136 ($6.80)
24/7 Classic T-Shirt Bra$7474 ($3.70)148 ($7.40)
ComfortStretch Smoothing Full Coverage Bra$7878 ($3.90)156 ($7.80)

These figures are our arithmetic on the published rate, before any rounding rule, which ThirdLove doesn't publish. Each $5 reward takes $100 of spending at Gold and $50 at Platinum.

How to redeem points

Points become discount codes in $5 steps. The terms list 100 points for $5 off, 200 for $10 off and 300 for $15 off. ThirdLove doesn't publish a maximum. In checkout the member picks an eligible reward.

The rules on using a reward:

  • A reward can be combined with one other promotional offer.
  • A reward doesn't work with in-cart tier discounts.
  • A reward can't be used to buy a gift card.
  • Choosing to redeem is final, and the redemption can't be reversed.
  • Every reward expires 12 months after it is placed in the member's account.

Tier status depends on spend on unreturned qualifying purchases in a calendar year. A member who crosses $250 is upgraded immediately. Platinum then lasts for the rest of that calendar year and the following one: ThirdLove's example is a member who reaches Platinum in November 2024 and holds it through 31 December 2025. To keep it, the member has to spend $250 again in the full calendar year after the upgrade, otherwise they move to the tier that matches that year's spending. The terms mention a 30 day grace period without explaining it, and say a returned order that pushed a member over the threshold can lower the tier.

The terms also list early access to promotions, new arrivals and back-in-stock items, and priority back-in-stock notifications.

Some of the table's perks come with their own rules in the terms:

  • Free underwear. Platinum members receive a free pair of underwear every quarter with a purchase over $35. ThirdLove decides the timing, emails the member, and the member picks the pair in the cart.
  • Birthday gift. A member must add their birth date and month to the account by the last day of the month before their birthday month, or the first gift arrives the following year. The gift is for select items only, one a year, can't be combined with other codes or bundles, doesn't work on gift cards or at retail locations, and excludes tax and shipping. The terms say the code is valid for 60 days from the birthday email.
  • Anniversary gift. Both tiers get one. ThirdLove doesn't publish what it is or when it arrives.

Referral rewards

ThirdLove's referral offer is "Give $25, get $25": a member refers a friend and each earns $25 with the friend's first purchase. A qualified referral is a first purchase of $75 or more at thirdlove.com by someone who arrives through the member's link, calculated after taxes, discounts, shipping and returns. The terms also say 500 bonus points are awarded by email within a week of the friend's first purchase. Each friend counts once, and self-referrals through a second email address are disqualified.

The fine print

  • Points expire. The terms say points "expire from rolling 12-months from issuance", and that a member who makes no purchase and earns no points for 12 months loses the entire balance. Earn or redeem within 12 months to keep points.
  • Rewards expire too. A discount code expires 12 months after it is placed in the account, and some reward notices carry short redemption windows.
  • No cash value. Benefits and points have no cash value, can't be transferred and can't be exchanged for cash or store credit. Notifications about benefits and rewards go out by email, and members need to be opted in to receive them.
  • ThirdLove can change or end the program. The terms allow changes to benefits, rewards and the points conversion rate, or cancelling the program, at any time. Points, rewards and referral links already issued keep their expiry dates.
  • Disputes go to arbitration. The terms send program disputes to arbitration under ThirdLove's Terms of Use.

What stands out about Hooked Rewards

The earn rate does the work. Beyond a handful of small action rewards, Hooked rests on a flat 5% return that doubles to 10% at Platinum. The value of a point is one line on the page, 100 points for $5, so a shopper can work out what a $68 bra earns without a calculator.

The tier threshold is low and the jump is big. $250 is three to four bras at today's list prices, and crossing it doubles the earn rate and adds a quarterly free pair of underwear. The Platinum perks are mostly product and service, free underwear, a stylist and members-only sales, rather than a long list of points events.

Fit becomes an earning action. The Fitting Room quiz pays points, but only when started from the Rewards page, and a VIP stylist is a Platinum perk. For a brand whose navigation leads with Find My Fit, the program steers members toward the tools that choose the size.

The birthday gift is timed. It needs the birth date saved before the start of the birthday month, so the program collects a birthday before it pays.

What members should know going in:

  • Plan for the expiry. A year without an order clears the whole balance under the terms.
  • Platinum is a recurring target. The threshold applies every calendar year, and returned items can lower the tier.
  • ThirdLove doesn't publish how many members it has or the share on each tier.

Is Hooked Rewards worth joining?

If you shop at ThirdLove at all, yes: it is free, the 100 points for creating an account are worth $5, and no purchase is needed to join. An occasional shopper who buys one bra a year earns 5% back, gets free shipping at $75 and a birthday discount, and should use points within 12 months. A regular customer who passes $250 earns 10% back, gets free shipping on every order and a quarterly free pair of underwear, and can use the VIP stylist. Someone who mostly returns what they buy gains less, because returned purchases subtract points and spend. People outside the US can't join.

What Shopify brands can learn from Hooked Rewards

Hooked Rewards shows how a small program works for a product people repurchase and return. A few of its mechanics carry over:

  1. Make the value of a point one line. "100 points = $5" and "1 point per $1" tells every member they get 5% back, and 10% at the top tier. Mage lets you set earning rates and fixed-amount rewards, and shows balances in the account, widget and checkout.
  2. Double the earn rate at a threshold a shopper can see. One doubling at $250 is simple to explain and cheap to run. In Mage, VIP tiers can be entered on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, progress can run on a calendar year, a rolling year or lifetime, and tiers can carry points multipliers such as 1.5x, 2x or 3x.
  3. Pick one expiry rule and state it once. Mage keeps points expiry off by default and offers two modes, a set number of days after points are earned, or a reset on each purchase, with a reminder email before points expire.
  4. Reward profile moments. A birthday gift that needs the date a month early collects a birthday and a reason to log in. Mage has a Birthday Bonus (once a year, when the customer has saved their birthday) and an Anniversary Bonus, and tier-specific rewards, such as a larger birthday reward at a higher tier.
  5. Set a minimum spend on referrals. A referral that only counts at $75 keeps the cost of a reward below the value of the sale. Mage referral rewards can carry a minimum spend and can be issued after a delay, for example after the return window.

If you're building a points and tiers loyalty program on Shopify, Mage covers the structure above: points with fixed-amount rewards, VIP tiers on amount spent, points earned or number of orders, tier multipliers, birthday and anniversary bonuses, referrals and configurable points expiry.

Frequently asked questions

Do ThirdLove Hooked Rewards points expire? Yes. The terms say points expire on a rolling 12 months from issuance, and that a member's whole balance expires after 12 months without a purchase or any earning. Earn or redeem within 12 months to keep your points. Reward codes expire 12 months after they are placed in the account.

How much is a ThirdLove point worth? Five cents. 100 points make a $5 discount code, so 1 point per $1 is 5% back at Gold and 2 points per $1 is 10% back at Platinum.

How do I reach Platinum at ThirdLove? Spend $250 on unreturned qualifying purchases in a calendar year. The upgrade is immediate and lasts for the rest of that year and the next, as long as you meet the threshold again in the full year to keep it.

Does ThirdLove have a paid membership? ThirdLove's own program pages describe only Hooked Rewards, which is free at both tiers, and no paid membership appears on them as of 28 October 2026.

How do I get the ThirdLove birthday gift? Add your birth date and month to your account by the last day of the month before your birthday month. Gold members get $15 off and Platinum members get $20 off, on select items, one a year. If you add the date late, the first gift arrives the following year.

Has Hooked always had Gold and Platinum tiers? No. When Hooked launched, according to a Modern Retail report from July 2019, it had three tiers on lifetime spend: Admirer (free), Enthusiast ($250) and Devotee ($450). The current terms describe two tiers on calendar year spend and date tier changes from 1 March 2024.

Can I join Hooked Rewards from Canada? No. The terms limit the program to residents of the 50 US states and Washington, DC, and ThirdLove checks residency by shipping address.
